Yael Yurman is the Canadian actor who portrays Anastasia on ABC's Once Upon a Time.
Biography
Yael Yurman hails from Vancouver, Canada. She has two brothers.[1] The young actor debuted on the small screen in 2015 when she played the role of Clara Sampson on three episodes of the dysptopian alternate history television series The Man in the High Castle.[1][2] Two years later, she auditioned for the role of Anastasia for the seventh season of Once Upon a Time. Yael was already a fan of the show before she was cast,[3] but on the day of the audition, her voice "decided to disappear completely" and she considered not going, but decided to audition anyway.[4] Much to her surprise – and delight, she learned that she had gotten the part a few days later.[5]
After her appearance on Once Upon a Time, Yael played Aviva in the 2018 drama web television series Sacred Lies.[6] She also plays a freshman in the 2018 Netflix film To All the Boys I've Loved Before, which also features her on-screen sister Anna Cathcart.[7]
