  • (NOTE: If this is in the wrong board I apologize in advance.)

Okay then, What I want to talk about with everyone is as the title suggest what kind of entirely new character would you like introduced to be Ruby's/Red's love interest. And to keep things interesting lets assume the writers are reading this, so please say which realm the character comes from and what story they embody if applicable and feel free to add a brief description(the kind that sums them up) and/or background of the character and even the actor you believe would best suit the character.

    Realm: Enchanted Forest

Fairytale: The Boy Without Fear, The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs, The Wolf Prince (the 2nd)

Description: A magic user that doesn't use magic often due to the nature of his magic. Brave and Noble, he cares about everyone but don't let his friendly demeanor fool you, beneath his smile lies a wisdom and drive that goes beyond his years, which he is willing to expose if those he loves are threatened or harmed in any way.

Background: Abandoned by his birth-parents to an evil king who wanted him dead, the boy's great destiny was foreseen by Rumpelstiltskin who took him to where his adoptive father would find him. He grew up to be very courageous, and very kind. The death of his first friend left him fearing losing any more. Eventually he was found by the king and sent to gather the three hairs from a demon on Onigashima island(this allows for a Momotaro character to appear) and met along the way a young woman named Red Riding Hood who he would meet again after using trickery to become King and punish the wicked King as well as finding out his own illegitimate relation to the the royal family (this keeps him single). Spending time with Red left him feeling things he had never felt before, a burning in his chest when in her presense and a hollowed existence type feeling when she was not around. Now that the curse is broken, he seek to be reunited with her despite being stuck in a distant corner across the sea within the enchanted forest.

Actor: John Reardon (I actually have no actor for this character, I just put Reardon because he's Meghan Ory's husband.)

Anyways I'd like to see your ideas. Until later, Oncers.

Fairytale: The Pied Piper/Robin Hood crossover

Description: A fugitive, forced into hiding after a spell-gone-wrong caused him to inadvertently take the life of a child, when a village refused to pay him for his work. Reclusive, deeply broken, but driven, the Piper works diligently to make amends for his actions by protecting the weak and downtrodden, knowing ultimately he can never really redeem himself of the actions that drove him into his life of seclusion.

Background: The Piper spent his days traveling from town to town, ridding the residents of vermin infestations, using a magical flute his great, great grandfather crafted from the limb of a mystical tree. Unbeknownst to most he encounters, the Piper works entirely to afford medicine and doctors for his ailing sister, of whom he is the soul caretaker. When the Piper takes a job in a distant village, he is tricked into performing, but never paid for his work. Upon arriving home, empty handed, he discovers his sister fell ill and passed away. Broken hearted at her loss and furious that the double crossing village denied him the chance to be with his sister in her last moments, the Piper vists a witch, who gives him a spell to enchant his flute - a spell she claims will give him his revenge.

The Piper returns to the village and plays the flute, which, instead of luring vermin... begins to lure the village children. Unable to stop the magic before it's too late, the Piper watches in horror as the children leap into a canal, as the rats would do under his command. He is able to rescue most of the children before it's too late, but one boy, who cannot swim, drowns and the Piper is blamed.

Despondent, he flees to the forest, where he becomes a fugitive, an outlaw... emerging only rarely to aid or protect travelers who happen upon his camp and defend them against the wicked, wearing a hooded cloak to disguise himself.

In storybrook, the Piper is still haunted by his actions... A recluse, he is rarely seen and known by none, but this changes when by pure chance, he happens upon Ruby, while she's out for a morning run and stumbles into a small canyon - After rescuing her, the Piper is short with Ruby, but she is determined to thank him and tracks him down again the following day. Initially furious, but unable to maintain his anger for long, the Piper invites Ruby inside for a cup of coffee. She asks him why she's never seen him before and he avoids the quesiton, explaining that it's a long, painful story and she wouldn't be so grateful to him if she knew the truth. Because she's Ruby, she comes right out and tells him her wolf dilema... Suddenly met with someone who was as much a victim of circumstance as he himself is, the Piper begins a timid, yet sure bond with Ruby, destined to blossom into a  romance capable of healing his long since shattered heart.

Actor: Josh Holloway... Why? Because he's Josh Holloway... Duh. (and because he does sad/brooding rather nicely).

That said *lol* I'd actually be pretty ticked off if the writers took this idea... cause part of it is from my novel ! 0_O...

Hi, extremely rude person... You must not understand humor. If I were -really- worried about it, I'm intelligent enough not to post it. The likelihood of the writers ever visiting his wiki for ideas is proposterous, and even if they did, it's not like they can steal my exact concept, since they aren't in my head. I was joking... You might want to lighten up a little.

It doesn't have to be - I think the idea of the original post was to give people the opportunity to play around with their own story ideas. :-)

Ruby being paired with Dr. Whale, I can understand. They had a very deep conversation, in 2.12. However, has she ever interacted with Jefferson?

    • I'd like to see the puss in boots brought in as a love triangle. i think they could have a lot of fun with inside jokes and such. doesn't have to be "ever after" for the red/whale 'shippers. i know this is a pretty shallow idea, but i think the story arcs could use a bit more fun

        Preparing Editor Spell

    • Hi I'm the OP Spy, to answer a few question from everyone I will say this. I honestly don't think Ruby and Whale should be an item because I'd find it wierd since they would all probably go back to their own world.

And as Fractured Fairytales said that was absolutely the idea behind this. I also had a few other ideas for Red/Ruby love interest but they weren't fully fleshed out(Think Kintaro, who wields an axe and wrestles bears, being the grizzly prince/the woodsman or Dracula of all people)

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I think Red needs a nice, strapping, grizzly woodcutter. Bonus points if he, too, is a wolf. Or some other kinda were. Didn't Rose Red and Snow White break the curse on a werebear?

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • OP mentioned a Wolf Prince, if that's the same as The White Wolf fairytale then I'd like that as it would an interesting contrast. Red puts on her cloak to remain human but the Wolf Prince puts on a wolf pelt to transform into a wolf. One had no choice, the other chose the transformation. Though on this show its likely he got the pelt as a grand romantic gesture to better understand her where the downside is if he uses it too much he risks becoming mode locked as a wolf or turning into a werewolf instead of a hexenwolf.

As for the spy who mentioned Snow White and Rose Red, no the prince was not a werebear, he was a normal human cursed into bear form by an evil gnome. (coughcoughTheThingYouLoveMostcoughcough)

I like this idea.  When I was debating which fictional character with whom I thought Red would be most compatible, the first one of whom I thought was Robin Hood. There might be a conflict with Maid marian, but they could either leave her out or make it a love triangle to be resolved. I'd really like for Red to get a new guyfriend, though...she deserves to be happy, especially after what happened to Peter!

I completely agree! I find it kind of odd that she could sign up for a new show afterall she is a series regular now. I would think there would be something in her contract that would prevent her from doing so. But snce OUaT hasn't been officially renewed yet I guess the producers haven't renewed the actors contracts yet either. I did have one thought, that I wanna see what some of you think... Out of all of the series regulars I would think there are only 5 - Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow), Jennifer Morrison (Emma), Lana Parilla (Regina), Josh Dallas (Charming) & Jared Gilmore (Henry) - who can't book other recurring roles without the producers approval whether the show has been renewed or not. Maybe Robert Carlyle (Rumple) as the sixth... MAYBE! Thoughts???

That is most likely the case as they have been the consistant six since the beginning. Though you'd think series regulars would have something in their contract like that.

    • They can book whatever they want. The main actors don't pick up other serious projects because they're, y'know, the main actors. They can't have a second project interfering with this one (as was the case with Josh Dallas leaving Thor).

Meghan Ory isn't a main actor; the "starring" billing doesn't mean much with Ruby/Red.

Not much of a reward if you ask me, as it pigeonholes the actor. They are unable to book other guest-starring roles.

They're able to book "Guest Starring" roles for other TV shows, they're just not able to book "Series Regular" roles for TV shows. For example if House was still on and Jennifer Morrison had to return for one last appearance they would let her go and do it. At least I think that's the way it works, I have seen it on other TV shows.

    • Nobody's going to book anything that would conflict with what they're currently doing. Besides, for some of the "regulars", they can easily be "Guest starring" again, as their characters aren't major to the central story. (I'm lookin at you, Colin, Emilie, Meghan XD )

It only works if they get permission from the studio; they can't just decide to book a (guest starring) role while under contract for another show.

Yeah, one of the articles about Meghan Ory being cast in Intelligence mentioned she had been promoted to series regular "in part because of interest for pilots she received last season." The same is probably true for Emilie de Ravin, who was actually cast in a pilot (I think it was for ABC and called Americana?) last season, and only promoted to series regular after that pilot wasn't picked up. I still wonder how they would have explained Belle's sudden absence or how it would have influenced the plot!

AND NO, THIS IS NOT A NEW CHARACTER, BUT I REMEMBERED IT HAD TO BE A NEW CHARACTER AFTER I WROTE EVERYTHING, SO I'M POSTING IT ANYWAY

      Name: Peter Pan.
      Realms: Neverland // Enchanted Forest
Fairytale (or novel): "Peter Pan" and "Peter and the Wolf"
Description: Loyal to his friends and childish, Peter is a boy who loves adventures and travelling. His hair is black as cole, and his eyes are dark brown. But his adventure instinct is often contradicted by he beeing easily scared.

      http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/s555/Killian_Jones_/Peter_zps5132bb69.jpg

Background: He is born in the Enchanted Forest almost 300 years before the curse is cast.
After beeing abandoned by his parents at the age of 10 in the , he founds a powerful wizard that is willing to make a deal with him. The strange man tells him there is someone that has a bean he needs, and in return he will give him eternal youth, which Peter accepts since he doesn't want to become any similar to his parents (by growing old).
Rumplestiltskin, the wizard, gives Peter a hat that he uses to travell to a colorful island in a different world after he explains the boy that he has to steal the bean from a pirate without a hand. Once in Neverland, Peter makes good friends some time before he meets Captain Hook. One of his friends likes the hat, and Peter gives it to him as a gift, thinking he'll never need it again. As he has no more than ten years, he ends up running away with his friends to a hidden haven inside a big tree, abandoning forever his mission of robery.
More or less 285 years later, thinking the wizard and his parents are not alive anymore, he decides to use the Hat again to go back to his home-land, but as friend doesn't want to leave the hat, they go back together to the Enchanted Forest. There, they're separated and Peter goes back to his home-village and meet a girl called Red. His friend also grows old, and he marries a woman he meets in one of his journeys to other realms and they have a daughter called Grace.----
      Events taking place in Red-Handed

Peter somehow escapes from Red. The corpse the wolf is eating is not him.
      Actor: Jesse Hutch

Note: this is not a theory, I don't think this will happen.
