    • Wow Nick got really scary at the end there. The actor really mastered the art of making subtle crazy eyes with just his expression. Henry, nooooo. The beginning where he talked about his client (coughIvycough) getting away chilled my insides.

Loved the Tilly and Margot scenes. And it's killing me Rogers keeps giving fatherly vibes towards Tilly but he doesn't remember and I wanna shake him and scream SHE'S YOUR DAUGHTER!!

I admit I found the beginning of Henry’s adventure in the flashback a little cheesy but cute. I thought it was great that it was revealed Hook had paid Blackbeard lol because for that whole scene I felt things were going a little *too* well for Henry. The proposal scene was adorable.

    • Well, we finally got a reference to Davy Jones (even if he isn't related to Killian Jones), and it was nice we now have the GlassBeliever proposal, so we don't go from first kiss to baby with none of the inbetween time. Also, yay, Nick/Jack is Hansel confirmed!

    • Cool to see my prediction that Zelena will be in trouble coming true, even though I wrongly predicted it was Dr. Facilier, who was after her Oz pendant.

    • What a great episode! I really loved the focus on Henry in this episode and how he discovered he didn’t need to have a great story, he just needed a great life. And he learned this by going on an adventure with Wish Killian to find Davy Jones’ Locker. Granted, the whole thing was planned, but Wish Killian knew how much Henry looked up to OG Killian and wanted to be that person for him as well. And even though he didn’t exactly go about it the right way, I think he was successful. I did love that the plan was to sneak aboard the Jolly Roger, which Blackbeard (probably Wish Blackbeard or maybe NEF Blackbeard, I don’t think it was OG Blackbeard) had “captured” and take the ship back. I also love the inclusion of the story of Davy Jones’ Locker and that Henry risked his life to throw Davy Jones’ ring back into the ocean. There was a lot of great pirating in this episode. I also loved that Killian called Henry, Prince Henry of Storybrooke. I thought Henry’s proposal to Ella was beautiful. I really liked how he brought her to possibly the one place where nothing had ever happened so that it would be their place.

The present day part was also great. I think it’s really cool that Nick/Jack/Hansel  inserted himself into Henry’s book, which led to a break in the case. Of course, it was sloppy work on Nick’s part, but the important part is that Rogers and Weaver now know more about the killer and Henry knows exactly who he is. Unfortunately, that is because Nick kidnapped him after he got a flat tire from a piece of Ella’s glass slipper on his way to the airport for his job interview in New York. I also liked that Henry kept trying to convince himself to go to New York and that it was a piece of the glass slipper that made him realize he couldn’t leave. I also loved that Rogers got Tilly a job at Rollin’ Bayou and that she gave an anatomically correct heart-shaped beignet to Margot. I also enjoyed the bit with Margot and Zelena. Margot was frustrated with her mom because she knew something was bothering her and wouldn’t tell her, but Tilly gave her some advice on the matter and they made up. Zelena also got a box of chocolates from Nick, so she’s got a target on her back.

She said Chad. He is Kelly’s fiance, but not Margot’s cursed father.

    • I don't quite understand Henry in the flashback. He wants his own adventure? It seems going to Camelot, the Netherworld, the AU Enchanted Forest, Neverland and the freaking UNDERWORLD isn't enough for him? Also, he helped to break the Dark Curse, the Black Fairy's curse and he also helped to defeat Peter Pan, the Wicked Witch, the Evil Queen...... and on top of that he is freaking Author.

Probably people who don't think Nick is actually the killer, and so are trying to justify that Facilier is. They would be wrong, however.

The twist is that Nick/Jack is actually Hansel. Why would Facilier kill witches anyway? As he himself points out, he is a witch doctor.

    • Could Jack have lost his memory and identity in enchanted forest and regained it while reading Henry's book in Hyperion heights? This could explain 8 years friendship in NEF before the curse (near Zelina and Robin) In the annotated book Nick wrote: "they called me but no one recognize me". "Beware of little things" "Little flowers can be poisoned "

    • He didn't try to kill Zelena in the NEF probably because Zelena had magic there.

    • I liked the episode, even though it wasn't great.

Flashback especially was pretty useless. There are so many things we need more backstory and information and they waste flashbacks like this. I get it was important for Henry's backstory, but they could have done the same character development in a different, more important to the plot, context.

Present day was very nice though. I loved seeing Weaver and Henry's scenes, I miss this relationship. The Nick reveal was creepy and well made. However, I loved Margot and Tilly's scenes the most. Tilly is such a sweet and beautiful character, while I'm here for some Robin/Zelena family drama.

      Grade is 7.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Flashback should have been Henry (Jared Gilmore) first arriving to NEF, and meeting Jack (Post "Chosen"), whilst shedding light on Jack's motives and showing their adventures together. Maybe it could deal with the implications of entering a story that "isn't his", as stated by Alice in Hyperion Heights.

    • While I get what some of you are saying about the FB, I do think one scene that was very important to be shown was Henry's proposal to Ella. Like I said before, without this scene we literally go from first kiss to baby in the FB's of Henry and Ella. Alb makes a good point though, we could have had Henry go on a different more plot important journey and still have this development and the Ella proposal scene. Like Henry could have had Jack with him on the adventure, to show more of that relationship, and hint that Jack is Hansel, and/or shown off another coven witch.

I did ship GlassBeliever in that scene. We needed more scenes like that. About Ella/Jacinda, i say ultimately: it's not bad acting, it's bad writing.

Agree, that's actually how I feel about most of the flashbacks in 7B, except for Zelena and Robin in 711 and Alice and Robin in 714. What bugs me the most, I think, is we do not only have too many characters in general, right now we have too many villains too. Seems like they haven't learned from their 4B mistakes. Gothel, the coven and her plan are just out of the picture for whole episodes, Facilier is doing who knows what in the background anyway and now Nick takes center stage for another episode next week. I personally feel like they should've left Facilier with the Tiana backstories. He is boring and out of the three we have, I'd rather have Gothel and Nick/Hansel.

My biggest problem with this week's flashbacks were the cheesyness of Henry's plan to find a ring that has a story, like WHAT? and that I generally dislike Hook/pirate-backstories and this kind of was one, even though Henry was supposed to be the focus.

    • Interesting episode.

I liked the flashback even though it could've been better.

Also, the moment Henry realizes Nick is the killer was so creepy, bravo to everyone involved. Nathan Parsons does such a good job as Hansel / Nick / Jack. I also liked that Henry referenced the two different Hansel & Gretel stories.

Alice is becoming one of my all time favorite character in this show. She's so sweet, and so hurt and Rose Reynolds is fantastic playing her.

I didn't care for the rest.

    • I have 2 questions

      1) Didn't the apple-tree-covered storybook only consist the events of the first six seasons? The events that are after Henry traveled to NEF should be in the Second Storybook, not the novel. How could Henry's adventure be in that book?

      2) How could Black Beard and Smee never age? Note that this flashback occurs after "Tougher Than the Rest", where Wish Hook was a very old man. So, 30 years passed, and BB and Smee are still the same, but Hook not? How?

      1. No, that book had everythin up to Cinderella as Lucy knew about that.

Did the novel end at Henry meeting Cinderella? If so, that adventure happened after that.

I was under the impression it was a coincidental boat from like season three or something.

    • This was a polarizing episode. Ok overall I guess.

I Pinnochio'd a bit. I actually really liked the present day events. I thought it was an excellent balance of MadArcher, GoldenBeliever (that was quite the surprise for me), *familial name for Hook and Alice*,   Kelly and Lucy (surprise?), Kelly and Margot, and Sabine and Rogers. Jacinda was there too (was tolerable).

The tension building up to Nick's kidnapping of Henry was great. Just nitpicking though, they could have closed out the possibility of Henry discovering the chocolates in the trunk, if they made it so Henry put his bag in the trunk in the first place, but the trunk was chocolateless.

MadArcher's scene was cute too, just the direction felt a bit off  (I can't put my finger on it, but it just felt a bit fast). Either way, I like to see them taking their relationship at a far better pace than Jacinda and Henry. Probably the best new couples we've had in a long time, IMO.

Weaver and Henry was a definite standout for me. It always bothered me how their relationship has been nearly non-extistent since 4A.

In terms of the flashback, it wasn't bad...but it didn't contribute to the plot very much (as others mentioned). They could have fought in a sea witch, which could have lead up to the proposal... or just had a different adventure in general. Nonetheless, the acting was fine, and the proposal was more than tolerable. Also, Nook wanting to help Henry was great; he showed this guilt for...well we don't know because he didn't finish his sentence! My headcanon is that he regrets trying to steal Emma from Killian still. I also appreciated the nods to the Charming family (take that vocal minority! Henry did NOT forget Emma existed!).

Kelly "West" receiving would have been a great twist (for spoiler-y reasons, the shock value was lost). It was oddly hilarious nonetheless. "Targo" looked so excited to hand that box over!

Yeah, but that was when he was a kid. Now he's an adult and has not done anything special (in his opinion). It's like someone who was once a child prodigy and did all sorts of amazing things in his childhood but he is not the same exact person he is now as the person he was then. He wants to make new and different memories for his present life.

Hmmm. I read that scene differently. There was a beat after Henry made his intentions clear that he was going to see Jacinda that Nick's face seemed to be saying, "Damn it" because he might've wanted Henry gone from Hyperion Heights. I thought he was afraid Henry was getting too close to the truth about the Candy Killer and it would've helped if Henry had left for NYC. But Nick had no choice but to play along with taking him to Jacinda's in order to not seem suspicious. That's my opinion anyway.

However, the present day stuff was pretty good!

Also, I'm pretty sure Nick cares about Henry to an extent. Not romantically, just as a friend. I don't see that he is out to harm anyone but the witches. However, Gretal was pretty devious...

I guess I see different on this. I'm approaching it as a recent law school graduate. In law, in order to prove negligence, one thing we use is the "but for" test. But for the defendant's negligence, the plaintiff would not have gotten hurt. Applicable to here, would the events still taken place, without Henry? Some may say he is important, he brought Emma back and began the whole series of events. But hypothetically, if Henry wasn't there, maybe somebody could have done it? August perhaps. I think what Henry is getting at, the events he was involved in what in a already wrote by someone else to have a chance of happening. He doesn't have a unique story for him.

    • It was a decent episode, but not my most favourite. The flashbacks were a litte preachy for me, and maybe it's because there was a lack of Regina, that I didn't enjoy it as much. I enjoyed the Henry/Ella scenes, and Margot/Tilly scenes. I also love the actor who plays Nick - he has the psycho look down, he's amazing. I wonder why he sent chocolate to Zelena, since he wants revenge on the coven. Look forward to seeing his story unfold.

    • It was an ok episode, far from great but also far being the worst of the season.  I agree with some of the others that the flashback was pretty pointless.  Also didn't like how Regina wasn't in the episode at all.  I felt like her storyline took a week off at a pivotal time just like how Rumple wasn't in the episode RIGHT AFTER he woke up earlier this season.  Nick is just plain crazy and I'm loving the actor they got to play him.  I wonder if he's awake or if he's still cursed because as of now we've seen no evidence that he was going after witches before the curse.  I mean he hung around Regina and even Zelena there at the end right before the curse was cast and even helped them without trying to kill them (that we know of).  Loved the interactions between Zelena and Lucy.  Zelena is really starting to show growth development like Regina did in season 3.  She still has her wickedness in her but now she knows she has other options.
