    • I don't know if I'm proud or concerned that we predicted another surprise twist, lol.

I'm shocked, but pleased, that Drizella made it out alive. Her reunion with Anastasia was very cute and her last scene with Regina was nice for both of them. I do hope we'll see her again, even though it's very unlikely.

I'm a little sad that Gretel is dead but it was a satisfying death, in my opinion. It made sense for Drizella and for Gretel. I knew the whole time Gothel was setting the two of them up, but I did hope they'd find a way to both make it out alive. Her magic was very cool and she was a fun character, even when she turned out to have (as my mother put it) a rotten heart from too much sugar. It's kind of odd that she almost ended up a member of the Coven that also includes her torturer, but I guess Gothel could have kept that a secret from her.

The belief stuff with Henry and Jacinda was neat. But now that we know Jack is (likely) awake and (definitely) after the witches, I wonder why he took the papers that confirmed Henry was Lucy's dad. I suspected he might have been trying to protect Henry from his poison back when it was just a theory, but now we've seen Nick pushing for Henry and Jacinda to get together.

Facilier remains confusing. But as long as he stays confusing and not inconsistent, I'm cool with it.

And we now know Gothel is after the dagger! Which makes a connection between Weaver, Gothel, and Facilier, so hopefully they'll (mainly concerned about Facilier) stay relevant.

I think that's everything...? I'll probably come up with more thoughts as I see everyone else's, lol.

-stole the papers to...protect Henry and Jacinda/Ella again? That would make sense

It was actually Flynn as Kevin and Sam Flynn from the Tron movies. The bar sign actually looked just like the one from the movie and also the fact it was an arcade too.

Driz and Ana made up and left HH with a magic bean. Gothel is still doing whatever. We didn't get any new coven members revealed in the past or present day. The killer is Nick (Jack), and is heavily implied to really be Hansel (from Hansel and Gretel).

    • There seems to be set-up for Gothel and her war of the witches still. For example, we now know she's after the Dark One Dagger. She seems not only okay with Jack's killing of the Coven but almost encouraging it, which could indicate a part of her plan (I haven't quite pieced together what yet, though). And now she has no Guardian on her side, so she needs a new bargaining chip and powerhouse. Hopefully, they'll actually follow through with it.

That's my point then. If she was a Coven member when she was turned into a statue, then we have the wrong thing on the wiki. It says it was after she was freed from the statue.

The implication is that Gretel didn't learn magic until after her encounter with Hilda. Learning magic was her way of making sure she was never a victim again.

    • I do not think that the twists are predictable, I mean you guys are all geeks with this show, I'm one too but I definitely did not predict this or Tremaine's identity. Kudos!

In this case the twist is useful because they made Jack/Hansel somebody who has a role in the story than just another Kathryn.

Drizella's resolution was predictable though, but I still enjoyed it because I didn't want to see her dead, clearly they had more plans for her to return maybe in season 8. I don't know, sad that it won't happen.

For the whole episode I had this on my mind: why does Facilier have all this magic or still has tricks up his sleeve and doesn't use them to cure Henry? In fact, in the end, he did, thankfully! But there is always a second purpose, and that was to secure the Guardian away from Rumple so he can't reunite with Belle and the doctor can get his precious dagger... why I have no idea. I like his ambiguous character anyway, but yeah he's not right for Regina, unless it's up to her to redeem him, I guess?

I was also hoping for more witches to be revealed since this is called "Sisterhood", but without spoiling, there are still some episodes where they could reveal that...

Overall great episode but the Ivy resolution was very predictable. I also enjoyed the bromance moments, sad that Sabine wasn't there with Jacinda.

    • Predicted that Gretel was a test for Drizzy as Ivy was a test for Ana.

We all got along with the theory that Jack is pretty much guaranteed to be Hansel given how over the top it was hinted at. (That's Once's secret. If they are clueing you in, they'll do it with a frying pan.)

Plus side, Drizzy keeping with the plant magic she learned is nice and logical. Gretel with candy magic was cool as well.

Down side, no Coven. At this point those other witches are mannequins that Gothel talks to in her spare time.

Weirdly, Gothel was really thinking that Gretel would be "sisters" with her childhood tormentor? Maybe she hoped that they would never lift their hoods. Gothel has some wierd thoughts, but she does a good job at making you feel that she cares...but then it turns out that she really doesn't.

Plus side, we also know both her and Facilier want the Guardian to boost their power via Dark One Dagger. For what? Don't know yet.

Big-Big issue that has gone unmentioned is....these deleted scenes really disjoint the story.

      1. Drizzy was using plant based magic and stuff out of nowhere. (She learned from Regina in a deleted scene).

      2. Ana knew of Gothel, somehow. Probably a deleted scene.

      3. Ana somehow escaped Gothel, which was random. (Their scene was cut from 7x14)

At least, it's canonical as to why Drizzy knew that they both wielded magic.

    • I liked the episode, I find it cool but also disappointed that we have predicted Nick being the killer. It will be interesting to see how they will deal with No Guardian )n the future. Facilier still confuses me, the cheesy Jacinda entering the door way like some 80s sitcom was amusing. The Drizella scenes were good

    • Something critical but necessarily negative: I think the “Shift” happened.

Eloise was seemingly all about the Coven reconvening over tea, but now it appears that she simply wants Ana’s magic or Ana as a tool for more power (which I think was always the case, but no mention on her givin up on regrouping the Coven).

Works to tie Facilier’s, Rumple’s, and presumably Gothel’s plot which is nice.

I really like Facilier but boy I do not understand his actions... I guess we'll see.

Jack being the killer was predicted here but still a nice twist. Gretel was a bit meh as a character but ok, no big harm.

    • I liked this episode. I’m glad Drizella was able to reconcile with Ana and they went to have their happy ending in the NEF. The flashbacks were enjoyable as well. I liked what we saw of Gretel 2.0. I liked the reveal of Jack/Nick being the killer and he’s definitely Hansel. I also enjoyed Henry, Rogers, and Jack at the barcade and Henry and Jacinda’s impromptu date. I’m still not a fan of Facilier, but I liked that he was able to give Regina some magic so she can save Henry (even if his methods were a bit iffy).

    • Positive Takeaways:

-Ivy didn't die! I liked her send off too. And the tracks that played during her and Ana's interactions.

-We learned that Eloise is after Weaver's dagger too. Seems like her and Samdi will be well intertwined into the plot, keeping it less uh...convoluted? Weaver and Samdi's interaction was cool too (villain vs ex-villain!).

-Gretel has cool magic. Not gonna lie, I think Drizella had more than just a sisterly-bond idea with her.

      -More lanturns!

-The arcade was pretty cool; all the interactions were pretty neat. As cheesy as Jacinda's enter was , it was still fun to watch.

-Totally satisfied with Jack/Nick/Hansel being the killer. Hoping his confession will be well done too.

-Lana portraying Gothel pretending to be Regina!

      -Lucy is pretty clever.

      Other things:

-I genuinely thought Drizella and Gretel's battle would last a bit longer but that's ok. Battles never really last too long on Once anyways.

-Would have liked to see the rest of the coven. Or at least find out who the remaining witche were.

-Samdi's card reading is a bit farfetch'd for my liking; Roni pretty much had my reaction.

-Samdi also got the privilege of having all of his magic coming over? And Ivy didn't know who he was?

-Ana actually wanted to kill her sister? 14 year old angst hits hard when you've been (asleep?) for so many years.

Gothel said they were two spots left in the Coven so perhaps after Gretel's death Drizella told Gothel about her story and the witch who attacked her. Then Gothel recruited Hilda.

Gothel told Drizella (and presumably Gretel) that that was a lie and there was only one spot left. Granted, since she claims to have lied once, she may have lied the second time and there were always two spots... but it's hard to say.

I'd say the most likely reason is that Gothel never really intended on Gretel joining the Coven. She clearly set Drizella and Gretel up -- two spots available and they can't work together, but these two just so happen to have tragic backstories involving their siblings and are incredibly stubborn... they were bound to end up together. But there was one thing Drizella offered to the Coven that Gretel did not: the Dark Curse (and the willingness to cast it).

Had Gretel bested Drizella, Gothel likely would have recruited her and moved on to the next poor, damaged girl who wants to torture someone by going to a place with no happy endings, but I don't think she ever cared enough to wonder what might happen when Gretel and the Blind Witch are reunited.

I think the Eighth Witch doesn't actually exists. It was just how Regina was referred to in that episode. The missing ingredient. Drizella's the 7th Witch and Anastasia replaced her. Now, there are only four witches (since Sage and Hilda are dead).

    • Another good episode!

I'm so glad they didn't kill Drizella! They gave her a beautiful send-off. Present day scenes were overall pretty good, especially Drizzy/Ana and Roni/Weaver. Facilier keeps intriguing me. Eloise/Gothel is the one I don't get. I mean, she's a good villain so far, but I'm seriously getting confused at what her actual goal is. She, like Samdi, wanted to use Anastasia's magic (killing her) to get the Dagger, right? (Plus, agree with everyone who pointed out the deleted scene from last episode was actually important to understand this one). The scenes at Flynn's Arcade were cute but a bit unecessary, I'm really getting tired of Henry and Jacinda. However, great reveal for Nick to be the killer! He's definitely Hansel. Speaking of, Gretel was a fun character but I wanted to know a bit more about her. They should have used the flashback to explain more about the coven but whatever, I'm glad they focused it on Drizzy though.

I'd give the episode an 8.

It was nice to see a witch version of Gretel. Im surprised Henry and Jacinda havent kissed yet. It looks like the main arc is the witch killer, which seems odd since the coven were made out to be so important in 7x10. Looking forward to see what comes next.

When she kissed him on the cheek, she didn't believe in true love. She thought it had just been disproven by Henry missing his shot. Same as Henry kissing Lucy while she was in her coma.

I know, I know. It's about belief and willing to go out on hope/sacrifice. But Lucy sure did dodge a bullet there.

As much as I love Ivy, I agree that it would have been better for her to die and her mother to survive. Her mother had so much uncovered backstory, and it would have been interesting to delve into that more. Also, seeing her deal with Ivy’s death would have been compelling.

    • Do you remember when it was needed a magic bean and a compass to travel between realms?

We had a whole episode about the compass in 2A, now they just throw the bean and that's it

No you didn’t. It was the ashes of a used enchanted tree and the compass was needed due to such a condition.

    • Anyone caught the initials of the person who been beating Henry's score in the arcade game? I believe it was JBH? I know it's pretty much assume now Jack is Hansel, but this was another hint. JBH. Jack Born as Hansel? Jack and the Beanstalk is Hansel? Jack Burn = Hansel. Also, when they left the arcade, Nick sound and look disappointed when he told Henry manage to reclaim the top score again in the arcade game.

I noticed this, too. As soon as they specifically mentioned the initials, my mother and I were speculating how it could tie into the reveal that Jack is Hansel and the Candy Killer. I came up with "Jack be Hansel", which is a little more direct, lol. Possibly "Jack Branson Hansel", as a combination of all three of his names?

I also noticed him looking disappointed. When Henry started talking I thought he was going to ask if that was his score, but I think he mentioned the car instead.

    • I don’t think the initials can be recognized as anything, really. Unless it’s secretly a band or something.

I actually like your suggestions of Jack be Hansel and Jack Branson Hansel. Jack be Hansel, maybe a reference to the nursery rhyme Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Quick and a lot of people used their middle initials to convey a meaning with their full name. And Jack Branson, I forgot Nick's last name was Branson and the surname Branson has root name mean Burning, refer to Hansel's burn perhaps.

    • Thought it was an okay episode overall- I know that everyone has been trying to get the guardian in their fold, but now I'm totally confused... Maybe you all could shed another light on the situation...

Gothel hides Ana to keep the guardian for herself, tells Victoria in the past that the Guardian cannot be corrupted, but then screams at Ana to provoke her into killing Drizzy???

Rumple was so kind, and good - I understand that he felt like he needed to let Ana go, but what exactly does the guardian taking final possession of the dark one dagger entail?  Does it take a lot of time (they didn't have), special spell (needed to gather ingredients/magic for), or a sacrifice  (he didn't want Ana to have to make)

Half-expected there to be some sort of transference of power to a new guardian once the sisters walked through the portal...

Samdi gifts Regina some of Ana's residual magic to save Henry...  I enjoy watching him try to win her, she is finally the one being pursued instead of always being the pursuer in the relationship but I am expecting he just wants Henry to be saved because he needs Henry for something

Final thought- Nick/Jack/Hansel/Candy Killer - is he only going after coven witches or all witches... Gothel is suspiciously unworried- did she put the hair in Alice's bag or did he???

Something that occurs to me while my family watches Nick/Jack’s into ep. He’s totally awake isn’t he, unless he’s just a psycho in his dream world too? Idk why it took me so long to totally get that. Probably bc of all the craziness of the last episode. Henry’s cure, strength of sisterhood, powers. Drizella and Ana being the magical sister equivalent of Ariendalle and the Ice Queen posse. Mad questions about Gothel. The whole family of Hansel and Gretel. Obviously not the one from our world. They found their dad and didn’t get disfigured. But now I wonder how this H&G got sent to the Witch’s house? Was it really their stepmom/mom like in Grimm Fairytales? Bc that would cause some trauma. And Jacinda said her world was one where HEA’s often fail. Makes sense.

Headcanon--Eloise placed Ivy's dark magic/darkness (used interchangeably within the show for reasons) within Ana. So, Eloise thought that if she inputed dark magic within that Ana could trigger it which would cause Ana's Guardian/Light magic to flee.

Probable reason--It might have been explained but the scenes were removed. There were a number of removed scenes this season and it feels more noticeable.

It likely entails time and specific conditions which Weaver knew that Ivy and Ana didn't have the luxury with Eloise, Samdi, and Nick, the Candy Killer, around. Eloise used some enchanted vine to have Ana absorb Iy's magic. So, it likely takes the Dagger and somethig else for Ana or any Guardian to absorb much stronger magic.

Half-expected there to be some sort of transference of power to a new guardian once the sisters walked through the portal...

Guardians are just a special class of Light mages. Typical light mages has a corruptible light magic that if given dark emotions will turn dark. Saviors have incorruptible light magic that comes with a price: their death, as they act as emissaries for the balance of light and dark. Guardians have incorruptible light magic that comes with a cost: imbued/latent dark magic will cause the magic to flee the host, which leaves it up for anyone to control.

So, there are many guardians, just hard to sift out.

Samdi gifts Regina some of Ana's residual magic to save Henry...  I enjoy watching him try to win her, she is finally the one being pursued instead of always being the pursuer in the relationship but I am expecting he just wants Henry to be saved because he needs Henry for something

Nick has only went after Coven members so far. So, it is probably only that.

      Answers in bold.
