  • So, Merrin posted that on Instagram:

    https://www.instagram.com/p/Bfb_YG8g995/?hl=fr&taken-by=realmerrindungey

"Ran into some Queens today... 🐙🐉🍎👑#ouat"

We could think it is a (rather big) coincidence that the three of them ran into each other... But if you look at the background of the pic, there is the front page of a OUAT script...

So, they met for something OUAT-related or somewhere OUAT-related. All three of them.

If you recall the interview that A&E gave when they announced the ending of the series, they did say that some familiar faces would return before the end of the series:

    http://ew.com/tv/2018/02/06/once-upon-a-time-ending-season-7-series-finale/

So, this picture could be a coincidence and nothing... but it could also be a tease. A tease that Ursula and Maleficent are among the returning faces for the end of the series?

EDIT: And Joanna Metrass too! She met with A&E and Lana... At the same place where Merrin and Kristen were today! She posted videos and everything...

    http://storybrookemirror.tumblr.com/post/171110153766/via-joana-metrasss-instagram-story

Are they doing the vignette episode?

      Preparing Editor Spell
    • I'd think coincedence.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Personally, I'm not trying to be too hyped for nothing. Would be so disappointing otherwise x)

But, the coincidence is rather big I have to admit x)

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Was just about to make a post about this. XD

I agree that it would be odd that all 3 of them just happened to meet somewhere with a Once script in the background, especially given how close we are to the series finale. Also of note, Adam and Eddy said they wouldn't be doing a New Little Mermaid or New Sleeping Beauty this year (in the Hot Seat). Of course, that would make even more sense if characters from the Season 1 - 6 versions of those stories were still appearing, similarly to how we aren't getting a New Snow White or a New Peter Pan, because Hook and Regina are still on the show.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • The fact that A&E mentioned Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty in a specific way makes me wonder...

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I really don't want to get hyped, but what if they were there to talk about the vignette episode??

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Joana Metrass also posted photos showing her with Lana, Adam, and Eddie. Lana is in the same outfit in Joana's post that she is in Merrin's post. So if Ursula and Maleficent are back, Guinevere most likely is as well.

The photos are on her Instagram story, but Storybrooke Mirror has screenshots uploaded. http://78.media.tumblr.com/30787b1b3321494bf4c6176ecbf311e3/tumblr_p4h8cp3uWn1rnf3pxo3_1280.jpg

    • Okay; that's definitely not just a coincidence now. That's just too big.

Here we go: they're prolly doing that vignette episode and showing the fates of many characters they did not get the time to do!

There is NO WAY that these meetings are a coincidence! Did they do a table read?

    • OMg, it's the vignete!!! I'm so happy

    • Now Jessy Schram has posted on Instagram of her times at the OUAT office. It's either the vignette episode, or past guest stars all went to say goodbye. But I'm really hoping they're all there for the vignette episode.

Edit: Bex posted a photo of Robbie Kay as well.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Yep, a vignette episode looks like it’s going to happen (unless they just are having a weird get together.)

Pan is dead and etc, etc, so I guess we’ll have to #KeepWatching.

On Jessy Schram instagram we do see: "Once Upon a Time farewell".

Could be a farewell special? Or just a farewell party. But that'd be weird to do it while some are still filming at Vancouver.

    • On one of the posts there was a sign that said "Once Upon a Time Farewell" So there we go!

    • Could be some special party, or something special/like a promo or photo thingy for the fans. I love some intrigue.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Yay! Answers? But which episode? Or will it be multiple?

EDIT: I posted this after the Once Upon a Time farewell ones were so maybe it isn't a vignette episode.

I don't see them doing a vignette episode. But I guess if ABC wanted to fit in another 7 pm reflective hour, it'd just be actors reflecting? (They don't air on Sundays anymore though...)

IDK... I have the feeling this is the vignette... I can see already  stories:

1- Guinevere's happy ending (featuring Sinqua Walls, Joana Metrass)

2- Lily's father (featuring Agnes Bruckner, Kristin Bauer, Merrin Dungey, Lana Parrilla and maybe Robbie Kay if he is Lily' father)

3- Mulan's ending (featuring Jamie Chung, Tzi Ma, Meghan Ory, Teri Reeves and Rebecca Mader)

But why would they waste one of their final episodes in a rebooted season on a vignette, when they told people that they scrapped their initial idea for it in season 6 because they didn't want to "waste real estate?" These old characters have nothing to do with the new season and it's not like they don't have enough new characters to feature already. I'm personally not seeing how it makes sense.

Forget the actors, each actual episode costs them millions to make! Thinking that the network would order an extra episode and spend that extra money on a show that they cancelled with enough warning for a proper wrap-up seems like a poor business decision.

A taped special is probably cheap. But Sunday is the only day 7 pm isn't an affiliate hour. They wouldn't be able to air 7 pm on a Friday, so where would it go...?

So to clarify, all these people were at the Once offices in California? And there was a sign up that said Once Upon A Time Farewell? Hmmm... unless they all came to pick up scripts in person, I'm not sure this has to do with an upcoming episode. But I also don't think they invited former cast members to the offices for no reason. A party would make sense, but not when the show is still filming, and in the middle of the week. A farewell special where actors talk about their experiences on the show is possible, but yeah, not sure where that would air. I'm stumped. I really hope it has to do with an upcoming episode/the series finale episode, but I'm just not sure.

3 things: 1. Wish Henry would still be straight, because he is a clone of Henry. 2. Henry and Pan is gross, because they are biologically related. 3. If anyone is a gay male on this show, it had better be Gideon.

I think Joana's posts in particular point to it possibly being a special. She mentioned that it was a special day for her to be a part of. A lot of past cast members are invited to premiere/wrap/milestone parties, so I feel like she wouldn't have said that if it was your standard get-together, but idk.

I'd hope even if it does air on tv, they would include it on the DVD/Blu-ray as well. I feel like this is going to be some sort of special, and while that's nice, I'm going to be a bit bummed out that they were able to get the actors to do that, because they could have probably gotten them to film a short scene instead then, and I'd rather we get to see the actors on the show one last time, than have a special with them talking about how great the show was to them.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • No way! It can't be a special! I want that vignette episode or past guest stars to appear in the finale!

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I think we could wait for the 7.20 title before jumping to conclusion. Personally I’m leaning towards a vignette, because it would be a waste of time for even Guinevere or Cinderella actresses to fly all the way just for attending a party or a special. A vignette would feel like a more appropriate reason for all of them guest stars to appear, they may hold the farewell party while the cast is staying here.

Perhaps the heroes defeated Gothel in episode 19, before returning to Storybrooke for the last adventure. On the plane, Henry tells Lucy the stories of other characters, with commentary of Regina.

        Preparing Editor Spell

What’s a waste? They clearly wouldn’t be meeting in person just to have to ask their agents and do stuff over the web and phone.

Not saying none will be in an episode, just saying that this meeting doesn’t say anything towards it.

      Agree

Also, it was said that the season 6 finale was like the "ending of the show's main narrative" or "the ending of the first book". So, now, in season 7, we are on a new book. It wouldn't make sense to return to the first one for just an episode

This has to be like a TV special where they share memories about the show and filming the episodes. Like "Hey I stepped in a huge load of horseshit while filming that scene hohohoho it was hilarious" and stuff like that

    • Not sure if this is important but Robbie Kay posted a pic of him on a bike with the ONCE background and Mr Gold on it and in the background there's one for Charming. Here:

Maybe they're just preparing a huge cast photo? In costume and all? I'm down for that hahaha

    • I see the point of those who say that a vignette would be out of place when they intended S6 to be the end of the first book and S7 to be a separate story, but let's be honest. At this point, S7 viewers are the long-term fans, therefore it is not far-fetched that they choose to honor the glorious days of the show when it approaches its end, giving fans what they want and, for one time, put in-show tying of unresolved plots above randomness of whatever suits the next season cliffhanger.

They probably aren't filming right now, so they are in California, which is probably where they live.

    • Sebastian Stan and Jamie Dornan are promoting their movies right now, so it's highly unlikely. I'm waiting to hear something from

Emma, Ariel, August, Black Fairy and Aurora

    • Considering the list, I'm pretty sure it'll just be a special or a special promo thing. Unless the vignette included after-after life (Cora, Pan, Valet/Henry Sr.). Also Cruella lol.

Er... prolly not? They're not starting 720 until next week, so Adamm will surely wait a bit more.

I wouldn't count on the episode title giving us anything helpful. It could be something super random like "Near the End" for all we know.

They could be apart of a flashback.

A flashback in the finale? Seems unlikely...

    • As I will say without end, this farewell doesn’t mean anything towards an episode (acting) because that’s not how filming a standard episode works. They literally wouldn’t bring in 15 or so actors to act in one day. They wouldn’t bring 15 or so actors in to ask them there to be in an episode or not.

I like #hope. However, it’s just rampant speculation based on very little.

Tiny flashbacks, though unneedeed (is that even a word?), tend to be quite good. Take 311 for instance. None of its flashbacks added anything to the story, though those short scenes featuring Belle, Hook, Snow, Emma, Henry, David, Rumple, Regina etc. in the past served to connect the story throughout time and show each one's evolution. Even if for 5 seconds, I think they could give a proper flashback to each of the main characters (not main cast) of the show to combine nostalgia and character development.

    • Honestly whilst I really am hoping for a vignette episode or a souls of the departed style cameo finale, I honestly doubt it'll happen. I reckon they're just there to film a special about OUAT.

    • Whether that means we’ll see other original cast members remains to be seen. “Once is home to everyone, so there’s an open invitation to every actor who has been on the show to come back in the finale,” Kitsis says. “We’ll see who’s available. But throughout the year, we’re going to see some familiar faces as well.”

I think this totally hints that gathering of those actors was more than just a farewell.

Sounds like they're giving fans the heads up that the past mains have been invited to return and if they don't, it was the actor's choice. So I take that as they are anticipating some no-shows and will not be here for any secondhand blame a la May 2017.

I agree with this. Also, they said it was an open invitation, so it sounds like even people who aren't mains may be coming back (or allowed to come back anyway), and honestly, a lot of those actors probably have more freetime than people like Ginny, Josh, and Jen, so I almost expect those characters to show up more than Snow, Charming, and Emma. That being said, I really hope Ginny, Josh, and Jen try to come back, even for like one scene, since they were mains on the first six seasons.
