  • Eudora is Robin Givens....and Tiana's mother! A kind noblewoman who's family is facing financial disaster.

So.....looks what I thought to be the case. Tiana appears to be a noblewoman who's attending balls (probably to save her family from ruin). Meanwhile, Tiana will be a tad more Disney-esque in Storybrooke as a waitress in Hyperion Heights.

Hope Eudora gets more than two minutes! (Looking at Colette)

    • About time! Was really wondering when they'd announce more characters from Princess and the Frog!

    • So, it's like a reverse Princess and the Frog situation. Hmm, so maybe Naveen is actually a LWM character that Tiana meets in Hyperion Heights?

Could be (like Tiana looks for a prince, ball after ball, but it isn't until the curse that she finds love with Naveen).

Probably not. Likely will be a noblewoman looking for a prince and nearly gets him (sort of a Cinderella story or a foil to Tremaine) and then an impoverished waitress meeting a high middle class guy in Hyperion Heights.

    • Well excuse me but they look like real-life mother and daughter. I'm speechless

    • Weird how we have casting news for Eudora, but there is still no articles on who will play Prince Naveen or Dr. Facilier.

    • So it's not going to be a direct Disney insert! Sweet!

If she's a noblewoman, that puts Tiana closer to the original The Frog Prince princess (since she was, y'know, a princess). I imagine we could still see the plot of Naveen mistaking Tiana for a princess and they kiss but it doesn't work since she's a noblewoman instead of a princess.

If we're looking at Tiana's backstory with her mother, Cindy, Tremaine, and Drizzle, I'd say this backstory probably won't involve Naveen or Facilier and Tiana will be getting another centric at some point.

Also, the story about Mekia and Robin meeting is adorable.

    • Wow! I love Robin and I'm looking forward to seeing what the character brings to the story.

    • I'm kind of upset that we don't seem to be getting any casting calls this season. There was the one for Lucy's mom which was basically fluff and gave no implication of who the character really was. Besides that, we've received announcements for Alice, Drizella, Tremaine, Tiana, the Witch, and Eudora without any hint towards their existence beforehand. If this remains the case, I'm going to miss getting casting calls and going on rampant speculation on who it might be referring to.

On the other hand, it means there could be plenty of characters that they are keeping a secret. Some actors that have been spotted on set could be playing a big role that they didn't release a casting call for; same goes for other actors who have only filmed in the studio and we don't even know they're on the show.

    • Sweet, so we confirmed the story is pulling somewhat from The Frog Prince as well as The Princess and The Frog. Should be interesting to see how this story plays out.

      Robert Carlyle?

Could be. They do share similar characteristics. Wouldn't that be whitewashing though? Carlyle's a white actor and Facilier is a black villain.

Some are speculating that Vladimir Ruzich, seen on set, could be Facilier. His role is being kept under wraps for now.

    • She's good in Riverdale so good casting.

    • Not sure how I feel about Tiana being a noblewoman.

    • Just pointing out, the story of how they have met shows that Eudora is in one of the first 5 episodes :) In the film, she wanted Tiana to have more of a social life than Tiana wanted so I wonder if that will be include?

Well, Tiana is a Disney Princess, so that makes Eudora a.......?

Mother of a Disney Princess. In the movie, Tiana isn't a princess by birth so Eudora isn't a queen. Just like Lady Tremaine and Maurice. If Eudora's a queen, that would be a change from the original.

I'm sure it was probably a mistake or her just making generalizations, but I figured I'd put it out there just in case it is a spoiler and "noblewoman" is a red herring.

That's my point. That's the way I'm guessing Robin is trying to refer to her being the mother of a Disney Princess. (Probably because she'd want to be a Queen instead #motherofprincessEudora).

Don't bring up Sir Maurice (and Lord Legume) who would somehow marry their children and they become king and queen (was actually said in 5x17 Her Handsome Hero).....lol.

I think Eudora is just a noblewoman (even though Tiana wore a tiara as did Drizella in the promo), unless they are a dying kingdom.
