  • Our forums are a lively area where things can get heated at times, I completely understand that. However, I must ask you to refrain from making comments like this one, where you write "Jesus Christ we get it, you hate women. Why don't you go watch Supernatural, something male-driven? Much more suited to your tastes. No wonder you hate Hook/CS, the very idea of a man treating a woman with respect must be foreign to you." That is going too far.

Also, accusing someone of making things up, like you do here, and accusing someone of lying, like you do here, is not acceptable. Please remember that in the future.

    • Just to clarify, and I am not trying to be rude, but are you saying I cannot call people out on misogynistic behaviours at all or I just have to be less heated when doing so?

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • What exactly did the person say that was misogynistic?

    • "Hook is a hot dude so he gets a free pass"-implying the only possible reason I (a woman) like Hook was because I find him hot. The idea that women cannot think rationally around attractive men is misogynistic.

And I am not even into men. So in addition to being misogynistic it is heteronormative.

    • I guess you are referring to this comment here: "Wow the double standard in here.... Regina is not a hot guy hence she's evil because of bad things she did while he's perfect when he did terrible things just as she did...."

I don't think the comment was meant to imply that you, or women in general, can't think rationally around attractive men. It sounds to me like Farerb thinks you might have been less willing to defend Hook if he were less attractive. I'm not saying it's true, but there is a big difference between what he said to you and hating women. Now, if a user were to say, "I hate women, I don't think they should be allowed to work, men is superior to women etc.", the word misogynist would be an accurate description, but accusing someone of hating women is not appropriate for situations like this. Please be careful with throwing that kind of words around. I hope that clarifies thingsĀ :-)

    • Saying that the only reason I (a woman) could like Killian is because I am attracted to him IS slut shaming. It reduces women to their hormones and says they cannot think straight because 'Hello, attractive man'. Maybe I went too far in my "you hate women" comment (although he has displayed other misogynistic behaviours) but that is sexist woman bashing that I am tired of seeing.

It is a way of silencing women's opinions and dismissing them.

    • I respect your opinion, but there are better ways to get the point across than accusing someone of hating women. Please remember that in the future.

    • Another warning

Aine, you can't make this kind of comments. I have great understanding for you being angry, but you can't say things like "You're one of those people who looks at an unconscious girl and says "well she didn't say no" aren't you?". That it is highly inappropriate. This is your second warning; if there is a third one, I will have no choice but to block your for some time.

    • I am sorry. I tend to get a little defensive when the subject of rape is involved

    • I did warn you that one more inappropriate comment would get you blocked. Here you write "lol yes bc letting her go to jail didn't hurt her in any way whatsoever". While you have a good point, "lol"; is going too far; it is basically the same as laughing in someone's face and goes against the rules of treating other users with respect. Normally, I would just give you a friendly warning, but since this is the third time you go too far, I have blocked you for a week. Please learn from this.
