  • So, what do you think this new realm will be like?

    Dark enaugh?

    I have some ideas:

    1.- HP Lovecraft

    2.- Edgar Alan Poe

    3.-Dracula, Leslat, Vampires.

    4.-Sleepy Hollow

5.- Halloween Town (Nightmare before Christmas)

    6.- Horned King (Black Couldrom)

    7.- WHAT DO U THINK?

      Dark Hollow?

I dont know that Broh! Give me a source!

    • When Gold first described it, my mind immediately went to Wonderland. I mean, it would make sense if the Black Fairy did live in Wonderland. A realm where nothing makes sense? It would explain why he has so much disdain for the place, to be honest...

Almost all of them are viable options, in my opinion. Everything except for Halloween Town and Dracula. Nightmare Before Christmas, I think, is a bit too whimsical and modern for the Dark Realm and Dracula wasn't a fictional character. Unless they plan on referencing Vlad the Impailer.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Dracula is still a fictional character, he is just believed to be based on a real-life person. Besides, that wouldn't necessarily rule him out. Mulan is also a real person.

I don't think it's Wonderland. Rumple would refer to it by name. I think this Dark Realm is a place no one else has heard of before.

    • What if this dark new realm is a somewhat corrupted version of the Land of Ev? One thing I must give the writers credit for is their impressive use of the Oz books mythology. Let's examine the "Ev theory":

      • The casting call "red herring" for "Rumplestiltskin's mom" (actually Merida) is "Evanna". Evanna was also the name of one of the princesses of Ev.
      • Like the Wizard of Oz, there was a Wizard of Ev. Who was he? Jinnicky the Red Jinn, a genie as the name suggests. Now, if I were to guess, if Black Fairy was "Evanna"/tied into the Land of Ev, Jafar would be an amalgam of himself and a darker version of Jinnicky. Jafar = Red Genie? Sound familiar?
      • Now, I understand this next bit is a bit too specific on my part to probably be accurate, but I think that if the Black Fairy's realm was EV, it would also serve as a backstory to fairies in general. In the Oz books, the princesses of Ev were sold to the Nome King. What if, as a twist, they were somehow turned into fairies?

I'm sorry for babbling on about this like some sort of conspiracy theorist, but I just had to share it with others. I feel that the Dark Realm would/could/should be the land of Ev.

    • That's actually an interesting theory.

This my new headcanon, if it isn't true

Using Mulan, and Blackbeard for that matter, was a big mistake. All I see are massive plotholes that are difficult to fill. I say, keep historical figures out of the show! That being said, I'm really hoping they don't use Pocahontas.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I mean, yes it does mess it up since that there are similar stories in both the Enchanted Forest and the LWM, but it's already kind of messed up by the fact that Snow White was born in the Enchanted Forest over a century after the first version of her story was released by the Brothers Grimm, among other plot holes, so i don't think it matters, lol.

That said, I'm also against Pocahontas's inclusion if they go Disney style.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Like I wrote before - it seems a lot like a pop-culture definition of Wonderland. Wheren't it for the fact that we already got Wonderland in OuaT, that would be my first guess.

Wow, I've been thinking of Tartarus as the Dark Realm, but your theory sounds great. A great way to incorporate the Oz gang (Ruby, Dorothy, Mulan) back to the show, give Mulan a backstory with the Dragon and make Zelena much more relevant.

      I have some ideas:

      1.- HP Lovecraft

Lovecraft stuff would explain the weird time stuff, but I'm not sure if Cthulu would really fit well on the show.

      2.- Edgar Alan Poe

His stuff would most likely be in the Land Without Color.

      3.-Dracula, Leslat, Vampires.

Dracula would also probably be from the Land Without Color.

      4.-Sleepy Hollow

Would either be from the Land Without Color or a era world.

5.- Halloween Town (Nightmare before Christmas)

Not sure how well this would fit on the show.

      6.- Horned King (Black Couldrom)

      Would be from Pyrdain.

      7.- WHAT DO U THINK?

      Comments in bold.

Also, I'm digging the Land of Ev idea, even though it probably won't happen.

    • Neverland?

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I doubt Neverland. First, Time was not "wonky" there, is simply stood still. Or more specifically, people did not age in Neverland.  Second, I really doubt Malcolm would want to go anyplace where the BF might be, since I could well imagine that he has some very deep emotional resentment for what she did to him and Rumple. and Neverland is the first place he thought of to take Rumple to with the Magic Bean. It just wouldn't make sense for Neverland (Rumple's Papa's realm) to be the same realm as the Dark Realm (Rumple's Mama's realm).

    • Unlikely — but what if the Dark Realm is the realm of Eloi and Morlocks? The Morlocks may be a product of the Black Fairy's darkness and corruption. After all, Eloi are scared of the dark, due to the Morlocks'...eating habits. It might also explain why time is weird in that realm. It might have something to do with the eponymous time-traveller from the story.

For the record, the only reason this theory came to mind is because Jaime Murray played H.G. Wells on Warehouse 13, a show which, I might add, was created by Jane Espenson, so... it could happen. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    • You know what I would love? A lord of the rings or hobbit twist. I Know that probs won't be the case but I would love that.

E.g. The dark realm could be Mordor or something. I know that time isn't different there and all but I would love to see that incorporated.

Or maybe even a star wars twist? We know that Adam & Eddy are huge fans of it so why not incorporate it? Like just imagine the dark realm, being the Death star? :a being controlled by the blackfairy?

I know that star wars theory won't happen, but it would be pretty awesome to see it.

Or... The dark realm is just an original place? :/

    • I think the dark realm could be like the nightmare realm which bill cipher originates from in the show Gravity Falls

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • We're now past the first backstory episode for the dark realm and it still doesn't even have a name. I'm pretty sure this is something that's worth building up, otherwise they'd just slap a "Land of Dark Fairy Dust" title on it and move along.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Well, no one had to say anything so unless we get some backstory on how Black found the place, we won't. Theory: She's a dust collector or another and she stumbled across this land. Maybe it has no name as Black Fairy probably doesn't care.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Well, whatever the place is, it remains nameless. it is simply a realm that Blue and Red banished Fiona to when they defeated her.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I'm still holding out hope for an at least one scene backstory for Fiona in the finale that could elaborate. This seems like a world that they've intended more for. Granted, they have a lot of intentions that don't come to fruition, but still.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Well, given that Fiona is not dead yet, there is an outside chance that she actually survives the season, and becomes the main antagonist of Season 7 (assuming that the show is renewed).  And should that happen, there are definitly more opportunities to revisit the Dark Realm both in flashback and in present day.

Keep in mind that I'm not holding out hope for this, but I'm not going to discount it a a possibility, either.

      She's already the main antagonist.

That wouldn't really fit well with them telling us Season 7 is a soft reboot though.

    • oh? Why not? if Jaime Murray were to be promoted to regular along with the other 2 characters to be revealed in 2 weeks, and only have Emma, Killian, and Regina remaining as regulars, that alone indicates at least a major switch in the story line. Combined with the fact that the original story line would be complete (according to what is being set up) any thing going forward is almost by definition going to be a soft reboot.  We already know that (I believe) that Ginny and Josh are not returning except for possible guest starring roles, and with what happened with Zelena, I can't see her character having any major impact. Belle is already more or less relegated to the background, and this could just finish that process.

So you essentially get over half the cast replaced, the main cast reduced in size, and one member of the main cast set as the villain. Not sure about anyone else, but that sure sounds like a soft reboot to me.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • uh, should we really be discussing contract stuff on a thread not on the Spoilers! board?

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • You bring up a valid point. but except for the comment about Ginny and Josh, the rest is more speculation based on what we've seen in the story, and not on what may or may not be known regarding contracts.  Also, quite honestly, there is still not a guarantee on season 7 happening, though the chances are looking good that we'll get one more. (all that means is that if the show does get the axe, then any contract info is meaningless).

Most of my comment is really just speculation based on the fact that the show is setting up for closure on the current storyline, there is going to be some sort of switch in story for season 7 (assuming that happens, it's still not been announced one way or another), and the fact that the show is really in need of something that will pump some fresh blood into it.  With two weeks to go, this is currently what is being set up.

The Black Fairy is a character that was hinted at in the first season (in 103 with Snow's dark fairy dust), and she heavily ties to Rumple, with being his mother. If we are trying to move on to new characters' stories for Season 7, I don't see how that would work with the Black Fairy being a main.
