  • So I've been thinking, we know Aladdin met a genie, but who is the genie? Is it Sidney, or Cyrus, or one of his brothers? Have we even met this genie before?

    • We are not sure, other than whoever that genie was is no longer in the lamp currenly held by Al and Jas.  We've seen that lamp, or one very similar, twice on the show. First was Sydney's lamp that Leopold had, and the other was One of Cyrus's brothers (I forget which one).  I don't recall from the end of Wonderland whether Jafar ended up in a lamp or a bottle, but what sticks in my mind is that he was in a bottle similar to Cyrus's.

And honestly, I don't think we'll actually ever see Aladdin's genie. The referenece we got at the end of "I'll Be Your Mirror" may be all we get of Aladdin's genie.

    • I think the lamp that now belongs to Aladdin used to be Taj's.

    • I don't think it was Taj. All of the allusions to the genie in the Lamp currently occupied by Aladdin have been to the Robin William's genie from the movie (at least, that is they way that I have interpreted the allusions).

However, the best candidate for the lamp's former occupant (should my interpretation be wrong) would seem to be Sidney. Sidney was in a lamp similar to Aladdin's lamp, and Aladdin's lamp was found in Gold's shop, which would be more consistent with being Sidney's lamp as opposed to Taj's lamp. Taj's lamp would most likely still be in Wonderland, along with both of the bottles for Cyrus and Rafi.

I agree, after thinking about it, Sidney must have met Aladdin (probably before Street Rats). And I have an idea as to what Aladdin's wishes were: in the Disney movie, Aladdin wished to get out of the Cave but found a way around it counting as a wish; with OUAT rules, this would have been impossible.

Then he wished to become a prince, so The Genie made him a fake prince, wich led him on the path to marry Jasmine and become the actual prince; this sounds like what Once calls "Destiny", so maybe genies work with it.

After that, Aladdin "wished" for Genie to save him from drowning and, as his 3rd wish, liberted the genie; as in this point Aladdin had made 2 wishes in Once version, Sidney must have saved Aladdin in exchange for his liberty ( It even sounds like something Once would do!) then was freed by Leopold.

TL;DR: Disney Aladdin's wishes: becoming a prince, not drowning and saving Genie.                             OUAT Aladdin's wishes: getting out of wherever he found the lamp, becoming a prince and not drowning.

Clearly the Genie is not the Magic Mirror, because the way Aladdin described him does not relate to Sidney. After all Aladdin hinted that he is not devious like Sidney.

Aladdin would of met him before he met Regina, therefore because he was devious.

I wouldn't doubt that. But like I said, Aladdin said his genie is not devious like Sidney.

He might of been devious before but that's really a matter of opinion.
