  • Who do you think would come out victor, Hyde or Ingrid. For the sake of fun let us assume that Ingrid cannot strangle him for some reason.

    Whay about Hyde vs Elsa?

    • He may be resistant to magic, but not apparently physical harm.
Cue the ice spikes and well, it's going to hurt!
Or just encase him in a block of solid ice.

Plus, strong as Hyde is, I would assume Marshmallow is a lot stronger!
Then we have the size and leverage issue, fighting a small giant is about as impractical as it sounds. So if Marshmallow gets involved, Hyde would be tossed around like a rag doll.
Also, Marshmallow has ice claws, more physical damage.....

Also, powers that affect water might get around protective magic, since every living thing is mostly water and therefore, freezing it isn't going to do that lifeform much good......

    • When you have Rumple at a stalemate with Hyde, you can't honestly believe that the much weaker Ingrid, and the even weaker Elsa, could beat him.

At best they'd trap him for a period of time. If this was Serum Queen...they couldn't even do that.

    • Granted, I've only seen the last two episodes of Season 5 (season 6 hasn't been released in Australia).

But in the final episode, Rumple starts choking Hyde with his magic.
And then Hyde starts bargaining for his life.

I'd say Elsa and Ingrid are formidable foes indeed.
Elsa once froze an entire country by accident and Ingrid did it on purpose.
And let's not forget when Ingrid was waging her war against the citizens of Storybrooke, Rumple had to bargain with her to avoid being destroyed.
As he didn't try to fight her directly, that would imply he is no match for her power.

And Elsa has better control of her ice powers then Ingrid, so she'd be even more dangerous.
Another point, Rumple kept Elsa's prison urn in the place where he locked away everything that was a threat to him.
"Too dangerous, too unpredictable" as he put it.

In Season 6 it reveals that while Hyde can be choked he cant be killed unless Jekyll himself dies. And as for Rumple, his bargain was so he could leave town to be free and SHE could keep HER life.

    • I rechecked those scenes and while Rumple does a lot of posturing, Ingrid is the one with all the power.
Every time she confronts him, he retreats.

He did threaten to kill her, but it was an empty threat, because he finishes that scene by stating all he can do is make her miserable for the rest of her life.

    • Nope. Rumple is the most powerful non-deity person in the Once Universe. Ingrid is no match. Rumple doesn't do much because he doesn't like be showy.

Hyde cannot be killed. Ingrid would fare no better than if Regina tried an immobilization spell on him (which they haven't done yet to him or EQ). Hyde is immune to physical damage as well and would just reform. Rumple, Regina, Emma, and Zelena could easily kill him, but he'd just reform and that's a waste of time.

And no Ingrid is far weaker than Rumple. Ingrid only stands up when she has hers, Elsa's, and Emma's combined power. And he still threatens her and gets away with things.

Ingrid and Elsa might be frequent big splash damage dealers, but their magic is quite frail. Regina easily destroyed Marshmallow. If Ingrid wasn't regenerating her ice Viking, Emma would have easily defeated it herself. So at best, Ingrid and Elsa would slow him down, but that's essential ally what everyone else is doing.

    • Actually, Ingrid makes him back off when she doesn't have the combined power, when it's just her.
And also, before the mirror is complete.
The impression I get is that he's just a nuisance not worth bothering with, Ingrid has other priorities and it's not worth her time to deal with Rumple unless he is obstructing her plans.

Hyde may not be able to killed, but being beaten is a separate matter.
Marshmallow has the size advantage, no matter how strong Hyde is, he can just be picked up and thrown away.
Or impaled over and over if Marshie is feeling particularly aggressive.

And no, Hyde is not immune to physical damage, nor conventional weaponry apparently.
Hook stabs him in the back and it causes him pain.
Then Snow zaps him with a taser and he gets knocked out.
So being stabbed with ice spikes or being incased in a block of ice several meters thick would definitely hold him.
And if the ice spikes were made to continually regenerate, which does not require sustaining from the creator, Hyde would heal just to be injured again.

    • I would hate to be drawn into a whole powerscale debate. Rumple is stronger than Ingrid. Show states that and those equal to Rumple demonstrates the neccessary feats to confirm that.

Size advantage means little. Regina beat him with a single fireball.

Hyde reacts to physical damage, but physical damage won't kill him. So, in essence, Hyde only beats any magic user simply because they'll stalemate him.

Magic likely doesn't work on him at all. Otherwise, anyone would petrify him, so nothing would stick and at best, the ice spikes would slow him down. (If fire didn't burn him and a fireball fizzles out, ice won't freeze him.)

Regina and Emma's combined blast easily defeated what Ingrid threw at them (but they were surprised by her sudden appearance) and even overcame a spell of Hades. Hyde wasn't affected one bit.

The serum beings power is endurance. Ingrid will be able to stop him as anyone could, but if it's to the death or incapacitation, Hyde will likely win.

    • As far as I know, Hyde doesn't have the ability to throw fireballs or use destructive magic.
Hence why Marshmallow would be victorious, he's just too big, too strong and has razor sharp claws.
A simple punch would send Hyde flying, then he'd just be tossed over several rooftops, depending on how good Marshmallow's throwing arm is.
Or he could just grab him by the arm and swing him around until nausea/disorientation takes effect.
He might even just simply close both his hands around Hyde and squeeze hard until all his bones break.

Just because someone is strong enough to take a blow doesn't mean they won't be moved by it, size=leverage after all.
And in all those scenarios, Hyde won't have any, he'd need to be anchored to a solid surface and brace himself to take the hits.

And ice is physical damage, it's a solid object being hurled with massive force.
I assume if all Hyde's muscles were impaled at once, it wouldn't matter how strong he was, the simple fact that they are torn means that he can't use them, severed muscles and tendons don't work.

    • Depends on how his body works.

So, all in all, since I can never be brief, Ingrid could easily stall him out, just as any magic user could. Lol, Ingrid could essentially choke him for all eternity.

Why I said the ice may not pahse him is:

Think of it like this: Ingrid blasts-------->magic--->if it effects the person, turns to ice and completes the spell. So, Ingrid's magic isn't ice and Snow, but ice and snow formed from magic. Likewise with Regina's fireball, not fire, but magic-formed fire.

So, it depends on the mechanics. The mechanics seem to convey that magical energy is thrown and it should appear or become the particular element. When Zelena threw a firball at Hyde, if the element was just the element as you mention, Hyde's clothes would be singed and Hyde would be burned still. However, when the magic hit, it was absorbed and nullified. So, Ingrid would blast him and it should have the same effect.

Thus we don't know if magic does anything beside minor blunt force. Plus, Ingrid uses an Ice Viking, not Marshmallow. Anyway, Hyde only wins via endurance, so in all other cases from BFR to minor incapacitation, goes to anyone else.

    • Elsa's not shooting ice out of her hands. She's creating things from the particles in the air. What you see onscreen is the result of her magic, not the actual magic.
      —Marlon West (Frozen Effects Supervisor)

The Art of Frozen, Chapter III, page 125.

So it is real ice and gusts of wind, not magic.

So far I'm assuming the Marshmallow we see onscreen wasn't the original, but a copy created by Elsa out of desperation with only a fraction of the power she imbued the first Marshmallow with.
If that is true, the original Marshmallow might be even more formidable.

Also, Marshmallow is actually solid, the snow covering is just hiding his skeleton which is composed of hardened supercooled ice.
Which gets sharper (his claws) and extends spikes/armor plating the more angry he becomes.
And it is suggested he heals as well, because he reattaches a severed leg in the movie.

    • Well, Once Elsa isn't exactly the same as Frozen Elsa. Nevertheless, we are talking about Ingrid.

    • Okay I just got my account so this is a very late reply however for what I gather

      1. The whole Runole vs Ingrid thing is pointless and has nothing to do with this, how I think it works is: Base Rumple > Ingrid, Ultimate Ingrid > Base Rumple, Ultimate Rumple beats Base Ingrid and ultimate Ingrid (obviously one at a time)

      2. Look as much as you think Hyde isn’t succeptible to physical damage, well he is. He got hurt my the electricity and by Hook’s stab. So if Ingrid summons her ice giant she can literally command him to hold Hyde and break his neck or something. Also what I noticed about Ingrid is that she can become a swirl of snowflakes and has this snowflake form in which she’s presumably unharmable. When she normally teleports usually her snow effect just disappears however in this case the snowflakes fly out the sheriff station without disappearing. So I think Ingrid is at least capable of incapacitating Hyde and probably kill him
