  • "I bear good news for Once Upon a Time fans hoping that the introduction of Merida (played by Amy Manson) means we’ll at some point meet her royal ‘rents. This season’s ninth episode will introduce  Queen Elinor and King Fergus."

What you think about this guys? http://tvline.com/2015/09/04/walking-dead-negan-season-6-spoilers-glenn-casting/

    • It's odd that they would leave the epiosde before the season finale to a (no good, rotten, unnecessary) extra. I'm kidding of course, but really? Merida's episode or parents right before the season finale instead of...........anything else. I guess it'll be a cameo or will Merida really get two episodes for some reason.

Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Well, "The New Neverland" was an unnecessary Snowing-centric episode (as was the whole 4b season imo), so "meh :/".

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Given we had that flopped The New Neverland right before the awesome Going Home, I'm not sure what to expect. I really dislike Brave, and I hoped it wouldn't be a big part of Once, which seems to be about to happen. Still, we have little to speculate, so who's to say I won't be pleased?

Anyway, I have no idea what these guys can do here, if the story is after the movie. I'd rather see the ginger triplets at an older age XD

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Well, everyone know that the penultimate to a finale needs to build up to it.

The New Neverland was quite random and I don't even know what they were trying to do there.

Nevertheless, it doesn't excuse this if it isn't related to the finale.

I assume this may be Merida's good bye episode or something which is why we see them. I don't see Brave being like Frozen and consuming the show and spitting it back out. I see it like Brave being the random element and a disproportionate focus. From what I have seen, it looks more like Merida is tacked on to a plot that could do without her......I mean she has nothing to do with the darkness or the villain (Emma) or even Arthur, so it's worst then Frozen if they make Brave similar to that.

For the triplets, Three Letters, C-G-I.......hahahaha

Yeah, that is what I was thinking.

I honestly don't even know what Merida is doing this season besides existing. Not like she's looking for anyone. At least, I hope not...

Well, Merida's story in Brave was to break a curse...

Wait, doesn't it ring a bell to anyone?

Wait, doesn't it ring a bell to anyone?

But it was Merida breaking the curse she put on her mother. That isn't Emma's case at all. Plus, what else to do to stretch the relationship between Snow and Emma.

It would be like Emma randomly losing control of her powers she had for a few seasons....Oops! Elsa was afraid and let fear rule her, while Emma's was completely contrived and was angered by an outside force. Sso, it would be sort of awkward as it was for Frozen arc.

I meant that in our case, Emma is the cursed one. So if Merida can be useful, it's to help Emma the way she helped her mother.

Different circumstances. Merida helping her mother is not the same as Merida helping Emma. Merida is only in the show just to have her. She will be as pointless as Cruella and Ursula.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Yes, clearly Emma is cursed because her daughter made her that way and they need to reconnect their bond of love......oh wait, that's not true at all!

Emma being the DO deals nothing with Merida or what Merida went through. Emma is cursed in order to save the Universe from a chaotic entity that will destroy everything and everyone.

Merida cursed her mom because of teenage angst. Yes, clearly the same issue. I mean, Emma just forgave Snow and forgave her thousands of times already, I don't see them getting in a tussle again so soon or for something petulant.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Well, Emma did accept her magic in 3B and suddenly she didn't in 4A just to have something for Elsa. Maybe there will be a new contrived conflict between Emma and Snow to have something for Merida. Like maybe Snow forgot to tell her that she was smoking and drinking during her pregnency or something.

Yep, for a secret spiller, ot would seem that Snow can keep some unseen, unheard of secrets.....which is totally OOC.

    • As of Merida's parents appearing in 9th episode, maybe Merida will be also connected to season 5B?

In a large capacity, I doubt.

    • Everyone is getting rather devisive on the inclusion of Merida.  I, for one, am going to just wait and let it play out.  I think that there is potential for her to be a good character in the mix, and to be a good long term character (unlike Elsa).  I don't see her necessarily moving up to the front ranks, but maybe a solid supporting member.

Now, Back on topic.  Ok, they cast Merida's parents. They also cast Snows parents, David's Mom, Rumples Dad, Ruby's Mom, Belle's Mom, Archie's Parents, Geppeto's parents, Rapunzel's parents. Shall I continue.

This may turn out to be nothing, it may not. We have 0 information on the storyline at this point to even have a bad idea of where it's going.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • True that! Likely the parents won't play much more of a role than in the movies or less. I wonder who'll they will get to play them. I'm anticipating Queen Elinor and her hairstyle.

      Hopefully we see DunBroch

They said that this is after the movie, likely years after, like Elsa and Anna. So, that is not the case.

    • I think Merida will end up as a Tinkerbell-like character. Relevant, but not that important. And her parents hopefully will be like Rapunzel's parents.

Like in the 9th episode, Merida's job for the season is done and she returns to Dunborch. Or maybe they need to get something from there and Merida stays there after they got it... but in both cases her goodbye. Unlike other characters I already don't want to see her recurring in other seasons.

I don't think it would be anything near the drama in Brave.

Because Emma lost control over her powers randomly just to make a parallelism with Elsa.

So this time she will randomly turn Snow into a cat or something just to make a parallelism with Merida. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if this happens.

      ---

Oh, And The New Neverland was a pointless filler, like almost half of the episodes of the Neverland arc.

Well, that's nnot true whatsoever. The New Neverland was the only true filler flashback, maybe the one in 3x02, but the whole of the episodes were not.

Yes, tha'ts what I meant. The flashback. Sorry.

Yes, the 3x02 flashback was also filler. I'd say the same about the flashback in 3x06.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Admittedly,  most of the 3x02 flashback was filler, but there are a few details that may turn out to be (planned or otherwise) forshadowing of events to come. Excalibur for one.

As for 3x06, maybe it was filler, but not all filler is bad.  It was still an entertaining story. And it did set up a few interesting details that came into play in the present day, such as the interaction between Ariel and Regina, and how Regina ended up taking Ariel's voice.  Also, the bracelet that allows Ariel to walk at anytime was introduced in the flashback.

But I digress. What does any of this have to do with Queen Elinor and King Fergus?

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I need to know who they cast as Elinor and Fergus. They already shot 5x06 WEEKS ago, and that's when they debut, right? They should've announced it, especially since they announced Hook's dad now that they're starting to film 5x11.

I guess it'll be just a little scene. Almost a cameo. Like Rapunzel parents in 3x14

In both episodes that they appear in? Even if their castings weren't announced for 5x06, surely they would've been announced a few weeks ago for 5x09 where they do play a bigger role.

Well, ideally we would never know any new cast until the press release came out, but that is just unrealistic to expect to hide major actors getting cast, so they announce some of them earlier.
