  • Don't know if I should put a spoiler alert or not since it's just a supposition, but: spoiler alert...

I was wondering why we've seen Hans only once whereas the actor has been cast for a recurring role. So what if Hans is the author of the book? He shares the same name with Hans Christian Andersen, maybe they'll explore that in the show?

    • that idea is clever.  Hans v. Hans Christain Andersen.  but i would like to believe that Adam and Eddy have known who the writer of the book is since day 1. and if that is the case, I'd imagine Hans from Frozen couldn't be the one.

      but you just never know...

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Yeah that could be a possibility. I guess we just have to wait and see

    • How about Walt Disney? How crazy would that be? This is Disney after all and he made the movies we all know and love.

    • I hope the writers, yes, writerS ... are the brother Grimm :)

    • A thought; what if Balthazar Blake is the writer ? After all he IS a sorcerer.... just a thought

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • i don't think the sorcerer will be the writer. They may be different

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I doubt this will happen but what if Cruella De Vil is the writer. She is coming afterall. But I don't see how she will be the writer, but i don't know maybe Adam and Eddie will think of something.

    • My vote, as in any misterious situation, goes to the Blue Fairy. Really, that woman is creepy.

    • The Writer is someone new not someone we've already met

      Do you have a link?

    • I'm almost positive the writer is the sorcerer.  The stories in the book were obviously written by someone very powerful and from The Apprentice it sounds like the Sorcerer was  the original source of magic.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I still vote Balthazar Blake.... though he was Merlins apprentice; its possible he wrote the book {Merlin} in Disney lore {Sword in the Stone}. Just my two cents

I think the Writer is a seer or has extremely strong magic, stronger than Rumples. This magic seems so far unreversable and can't be changed.

Balthazar Blake is a good guess BUT who was his master? Merlin! Also, The Sorcerer's Apprentice Movie is not a very well known movie and not a fairytale/folk tale/ or legend.

I'm still going for Walt Disney or Merlin. We haven't seen Merlin yet and we know Camelot exists. It also can introduce another villian, Morgan Le Fay.

    • We haven't seen Merlin yet ? But we know Camelot exists..... So..... What are the odds that Merlin is using the name of Balthazar Blake in whereever Regina and Henry go outside of Storybrooke looking for the writer ?

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • We have not. We only have seen Sir Lancelot and Lady of the Lake from the King Arthur tale. Then we've heard about Excalibur.

Merlin could use that name as an alias.

    • I think that Henry is the sorcerer and the author. For many reasons:

      1) He has the HEART OF THE TRUEST BELIEVER. He is the worthy of the hat. Even in 'Smash The Mirror' Regina tells him he's special. There are two ways he can find the hat (i) Looking for the author and finds himself as the sorcerer (ii) As a last resort to defeat Rumple, Henry puts on the hat and uses it to defeat him. He is Rumple's UNDOING.

      2) After wearing the hat, he is out of space and time, and therefore he can see the future. He has to make sure the timeline doesn't change. This isn't a paradox. It's like a chicken lays an egg and sends it to the past, becoming a cycle.

3)Why didnt the sorcerer, an all powerful being, keep the hat with himself? Maybe because he wasn't born yet! It also explains the role of the Apprentice, as he acts as on behalf of Henry because he wasn't born yet.

4)In 'Smash the Miror' we see the author of the book has an alternate timeline for Regina, giving her hope. He also sends Henry the book. Maybe it's because he loves his mother and wants her to find her true love and start his beginning.

I know it's a long shot, but i think it would make an epic finale, if season 4 is the last season.

    • it's almost like Regina's hope and will manifested what happened in that book.  it seems like they write their on fate.  literally.

    • The sorcerer is Yen Sid.

Well while the movie may not be "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" story actually predates the majority of the clasisc fairy tales represented on this show at least to the point historians track most of them.

Making the Sorcerer a even more powerful character than most of what we've seen is more interesting with that respect, as he's much older and with that he may be much wiser.

      ---

I'm not sure if the Sorcerer is the writer of the book, or if the book itself isn't just a magic construct. But I had hoped the show by end would do something like a "our stories are real in another world" multiverse kind of thing, but so far a bunch of things kind of muck that theory up. Unless they plan on fixing those holes, i assume they're not going to touch it that way

    • I think it's the Sorcerer. The apprentice says to Ingrid that the Sorcerer can see the future. In face, he can see multiple versions of the future (what happens when Ingrid gives the hat to Rumple, and what happens when she gives the hat back to the Sorcerer). In present day, we learn that there are multiple versions of the stories that ended up in the book (Regina walking away, or Regina and Robin kissing). So my guess is that the book is written by someone who can see multiple versions of the future, so I think it's the sorcerer.

I do hope the sorcerer has a past with a lot of OUAT-characters. Maybe this time not with Regina or Rumple, but maybe Cora or Maleficent. I'd like to see some flashbacks with the Sorcerer and people we already know.

    • another thought about the author (i seem to have split personalities on this topic)

-what if the writer is being held captive and is/was forced to write what was written?  was/is forced to write unhappy endings for people like Regina.
