    • It is a great episode for those who enjoy lots of David, Emma, Elsa, and Hook scenes. I really thought the ending was amazing. I can't wait to see Regina and Elsa interact next week judging from the promo.

    • Well, after Emma has been avoiding him lately, he's thinking everything with her is a date. xD

So...Rumple knows what happens to Anna. Why do all problems have to be with him? :/

    • I loved the Emma, Hook, and David team-up. Josh Dallas is right.... Hook and Charming should get their own cop show!

    • Because him and Pan and possibly Blue are the grand masterminds on the show. I have a really bad feeling Anna died by the Snow Queen's hands too. I loved that the end scene replayed the same music that it did in 3.22. But it wasn't the same/ as cool. Since they already used that music before.

    • I am really intrigued by the Snow Queen character. Wondering how this will all play out. Also love that different roles in the town are being filled XD Bo peep is the butcher and the Snow Queen runs the ice cream parlor...the name of her place is great "Any Given Sundae". I'm really looking forward to seeing what role rumplestiltskin had to play in Anna and Elsa's past.

I actually have a feeling that Anna actually might have died by Rumple's hands. She definitely would have crossed paths with him in the Enchanted Forest and he's a fan of making dangerous deals.

Or the "BFF two haves necklace, MOH at each others weddings, godmother to each others future children type thing." Either way I think they'll make one heck of a team

    • And maybe that path, led Anna to the Snow Queen. Something tells me Rumple took her to the land where the Snow Queen lived and tells Anna to steal something for him. When she failed,Rumple killed her, or the Snow Queen did. When Elsa found out she was furious and confronted Rumple. That's when Rumple trapped Elsa.

If EF had a highschool yearbook with pics of all our favs when they younger, Henry's book would be thrown out a window because that would be far more interesting.... I mean just think about it... Anna being dead might be a good thing. As Elsa would have to finally learn, how to be independent. I hated the co-dependence of the sisters in Frozen, but I hate the way OUaT is portraying it even more.

That's exactly what I thought. Matter of fact when they started hereing the heart beat I said "What? Is she in the wall?..." Trust me I know E. Poe, my mom use to read me The Tell Tale Heart, The Pit And The Pendulum, Black Cat, and of course the one that drives me mad even to this day The Raven... Every night before I'd go to sleep from the time I was 3 to 10 years old. She'd read them to me as my bedtime stories, and to this day I detest the names Lenore & Annabelle.

    • A few comments about "White Out"

      1. Loved the interaction between Elsa and Emma.

      2. I like the confirmation that his shepherd name is David.  I know he said that in Season 2, but the way he said it made it still somewhat confusing.

      3. Grumpy's whole "we fought with you so you could regain your kingdom. Well, THIS your kingdom, so now rule."

      4. having seen the generator scene in the sneak peek, I liked it even better once it was shown in full context. Ginny did a marvelous job with the sleep-deprived new mom (gee, I wonder if she's had any experience with that? :D)  And the "Get a flashlight!" was good, since we're not going to get any sass from the usuals.

      5. 2 words - Captain Icepick.

      6. That was the first episode in quite a while (maybe ever in fact) where both Rumple and Regina were not really present that much.  I know it makes perfect sense from a story perspective, but still just a bit odd.  (Fortunately, Snow and Charming were able to fill in for the requisite amount of sass.

      7. Even better, it was refreshing to see Snow and Charming really working independent.  I get that they are the one ship that is stable, now, let them grow a little as individuals. This episode did a lot for that.

      8. I liked the scene at the end when Regina lets Henry back in. I think between last week with Marshmallow and this week with Henry, we're seeing some good signs that, while Regina is struggling, she is not heading down the evil queen path again.

      9. The tease of the REAL Snow Queen at the end, and the promo with Marion being Frozen, have me "hooked" for next week already.

    • Things I liked:

      1. Elsa and Anna are working remarkably well within the storyline, both in present day and in the flashbacks. My fear of them being fanficcy is... err... melting with each episode (pun intended).

      2. Emma and Elsa's interactions, I really like them working together.

      3. Mary Margaret snapping. I want to hope that they're picking the darkened heart storyline back on, since it had so much wasted potential. But it was a great scene nonetheless.

      4. Bo Peep's Storybrooke counterpart. We needed some sassiness! Besides, take off her fancy clothes and you see what a cheap new-money she really was. It also makes me wander: during Regina's Curse, villanis had prominent roles in town, they were basically her entourage. Does that mean that with Snow's Curse, they have now been reduced to more humble jobs?

      5. The scene with Regina was heartwarming. Although Henry still sounds like a little j**k.

      Things I disliked:

      1. Bo Peep's costume was really… ugh. Althourh, after seeing both her Storybrooke persona and just how tacky her place was, I think it was intentionally done over the top to show that deep down she was a really cheap person.

      2. Bo Peep's staff. Now seriously, it looked fake bottom-to-top including the uber-fake flowers. Have we become lazy with costumes and props?

      3. The CGI at the ice wall. I kind of resigned myself to the fact they're going to use it a lot in the Frozen arc, but you could really tell the pixel on Hook and David's edge. :v

      4. The final scene with Elizabeth Mitchell. Please, show, I'm not stupid: I heard what she told Leroy and I saw her turning the molten cream into ice cream, I could take the hint. You could avoid having her freeze half her shop with no plausible in-universe reasons just to show the audience she has ice magic. Keep it subtle, for ice's sake!

Overall, despite the considerable lack of Regina, I really enjoyed the episode. For one, the Charmings are still capable of occasionally keeping up the show on their own, and the Frozen characters support it perfectly. I'm dying for next week's episode now!

    • It is so crazy that 3 seasons ago it would never have happened. 2 seasons ago, it was getting there but still wouldn't have happened. Last season, had Henry, not been taken to Neverland, It would be hard to tell if it would have happened, so this moment was so worth the time. And I'm sure he does miss his room. He literally hasn't been there since either 2.02 or some episode in S2. Last season Pan was hiding inside Henry's body when he slept in Henry's room but it wasn't actually him. Truthfully Henry hasn't been to his house for over a year. That was the highlight of the episode. Not the ending. Cool but the music didn't feel the same in that scene as it did at the end of 3.22.

I as well. My speculation... Rumples intended to capture the Snow Queen, but since Elsa had similar frost magic, she got trapped in the urn instead (or maybe because) of the snow queen and was locked away in Rumples vault where magic too powerful/strange/unpredictable even for Rumples.

    • I liked this episode a lot.

      The things include:

      1. Emma and Elsa sympthasizing with each other and have similiar experiences was cool. (Pun NOT intended)

      2. Grumpy's line. Still darn good even though it was in the promo.

      3. Snow's full response! Heck yes!

      4. Anna taught Chaming how to sword fight!! WHAT!

      5. How they incorperated Boo Peeps tale as a warlord and her "sheep" was creative.

      6. Henry going to Regina's.

      7. Hook using his hook as a icepick. Funny!

Also thinking about last episode; Regina went to Sidney needing his help getting rid of someone (Everyone thinks it's Marian but there could be a twist) and they can't just kill her like they normally do. I think the plan they came up with was having the Snow Queen do it. I knew Elsa wasn't going to be the big bad and we don't know for sure if the Snow Queen was brought to Storybrook by the curse or by other means.

Also with the only confirmation that Ana is alive is her heartbeat is it plasuible she is under a curse herself? She could be comatose or under the sleeping curse or curse like it. I think it would be too dark to have Ana dead.

    • Hi everyone, just a quick question. I'm French, and I can't understand what is 'so clever' about the Snow Queen's shop being called 'Any Given Sundae'. I feel like there might be a pun here, but... I just don't know... Can you help me ?

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Well, it's definately a play on words.  The word Sundae (the Ice cream treat) sounds almost exactly the same as Sunday (the day of the week). The phrase "Any Given Sunday" started out as a reference to American Pro Football, which is generally played on Sunday. The phrase itself is meant to mean that on any given Sunday, the team least likely to win can still triumph over the team most likely to win.  The phrase has become a little more common in mainstream, and basically references any situation where there is hope that the underdog will  become victorious, or more generally, that the future outcome is not predetermined.

As I was writing this, the initial cleverness is just the simple replacing of the word Sunday with the word Sundae. However, given A & E's penchant for twisting things, and also given the element of hope that can be found in the phrase, I wonder if there is more meaning to the phrase than just a simple play on words.  I'm probably just overthinking it at this point.

      Hope that helps a little.

Wow thank you ! I had a feeling Sundae needed to be remplaced by Sunday, but that didn't take me anywhere. Thanks for the explanation as I had never heard the words 'Any Given Sunday' before ! I can see, as Hope is a huge concept on the show, that it actually fits the story very well !

    • Robert Carlyle said that there was going to be a scene in this episode that included Henry going to the pawnshop to see Rumple and Belle. Henry was asking Rumple for advise. But that scene wasn't in White Out. I know it wasn't a deleted scene because the deleted scene that was shown on Good Morning America yesterday was about MM and Regina. So maybe the Rumple/Henry scene is actually in 4x03 or 4x04.

    • I would bet that will be either this week (Rocky Road), or next week (The Apprentice),  I'm leaning more towards the latter.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • I bet it's The Apprentice. The title could mean two things: 1. Mr. Gold is going to show Henry the shop and maybe offer him an apprenticeship. or 2. We get to see who was the Dark One before Zoso and maybe he betrayed his master to become the Dark One.

Zoso is set to apprear in 4.04 and another undetermined character right now.

Knowing the show and how A & E like to draw parallels to the past EF events and current Storybrook events both of those things could happen in this episode.

      Here it is: http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/10/once-upon-time-episode-402-white-out_9.html

    • You know, they really, REALLY need to start making better decisions on which scenes to keep and which to cut. That is 2 scenes in just this episode that would have been really good to have (counting the one with Regina and Mary Margaret).  Plus some others from the past (such as when Neal was navigating from New York to Storybrooke, and the conversation with Henry in that scene.)  They are leaving some real gems just lying on the cutting room floor.

One of your parents wants some time to herself so you decide to be a brat and punish her by forgeting her completely? I've got news for you kid, you anit lacking parents! And theres this little thing called the "ripple effect" ask your grandpa about it, here's how it works...... First you want new memories to forget and leave, then your Bio-mom will so she can be with you, if she goes then guess who else wants new memories to be with her? Yep the same dashing rapscalion who gave up his "home" to be with her. Then after you 3 take off for Manhattan everyone in SB will want new memories to forget about you or cast another curse to take them back to a whole other world where they have to live miserably-ever-after while you your mom and swashbuckling stepdad all live happy as the modern New York family pushing a baby stroller around in Central Park and have no knowledge of fairy tales magic pirate ships evil or your real identities:...... Gezz!

    • Henry is in need of some real character development from the writers. Given how well Jared responded when he got to play the body switched Peter Pan, combined with how really lame Robbie Kay looked playing body switched Henry, the problem is not so much with the actors as it is with the character.  Something needs to happen that helps to redefine Henry (maybe he just needs to "Grow Up" a little, since having a full blown teenage play a pre-teen is becoming rapidly unbelievable).

I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, putting Henry as an apprentice in Gold's shop (and probably getting some magic training as well) will provide for him to grow as a character apart from either of his Moms. Or maybe helping Regina find out more about the book, to rebuild the broken relationship than I don't think has ever fully mended from the Season 1 storyline.

    • I think it was a great episode!! However there's one thing I don't get. In Season 1 in The Shephard David couldn't use the sword he didn't even know how to hold it as much as I remember. Yet he was pretty cool after one day practise. Is this an error or what?

I was thinking that too while watching the episode. Out of all the scenes they deleted, or should've thought through, it would be this one. Unless, David forgot everything Anna taught him. xD

    • After watching this ep again I realized something.... When they pulled Em out of the ice cave Killian shouldn've wrapped her with his coat till they got to the loft, the Damn thing weighs 50lbs. And is black leather! She would've warmed up pretty quick. But hey, plot holes:

And in the ice cave Emma's jacket was unzipped.

Not to mention that little fact that police cars have heaters too.

    • Jeez guys, being too technical here.

They are all still getting used to technology probably.

I agree with Killian's jacket. That's the chivalrous thing to do and scores big points with Emma and Charming.
