RIGHT. So, I hope that they didn't say this explicitly in the episode, because then I'm going to feel like an idiot.
Okay, so I was re-watching "True North", and I was wondering the same thing I wondered the first time I watched the episode: "Why would Regina try to send Ava and Nicholas out of Storybrooke?" It really doesn't make sense. She's the Evil Queen; she knows that they wouldn't be able to leave, and then would get hurt or possibly killed. So why would she do it? Why would she want to bother herself with another town-leaving accident?
Then I realized it. She knew that the Sheriff was going to have to take them away. And who was the Sheriff?
Emma.
She knew that if they tried to leave, something bad would happen. She didn't want something bad to happen to the kids; she wanted something bad to happen to Emma. It probably wouldn't kill her; when any of the characters tried to leave, they didn't die, they just got hurt. MM and Kathryn got kidnapped. The curse was broken for David. So Emma would probably survive, but would either get a serious injury or would be scared into leaving, or even kidnapped.
Henry wouldn't be able to blame Regina if Emma got hurt trying to leave town. Regina would have her son back. The curse wouldn't be broken, because as far as we know people don't die trying to leave, they just get delayed.
Thoughts?
