I was thinking, since everyone out here likes to write, we could write our own fairy tale. It would be really awesome to have our own story and maybe we could make it so good that they write it into the show... (= wishful thinking, I know, but still)

    Rules:

    1. Sentence for the story in bold, additional comments in normal.

    2. Everyone posts 1 sentence at a time.

    3. Also try to only post 1 sentence a day.

    4. Don't write anything from OUaT into it. We should be able to tell the story to someone who doesn't know the show.

    5. I think it would be good that I will post, every month or so, a summary of what we have so far. That would make it easier to know where we are in the story

Everyone ready? Than let's begin! Here's the first sentence:

Once upon a time, there were a king and queen.

      Preparing Editor Spell
    • Everyone in the kingdom knew that they had a dark secret, but most had no idea what it was.

I love the idea, although of course it's just off-topic fun, the writers can't use it for the show ;) Now I really want to know what their secret is XD

    • Every night a blindfolded maid is sent to the dungeons carrying a plate with a magical herb so rare that the few merchants that sell it are unbelievably rich.

Lets see where our imagination can take us.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • One night, she dropped some of the herb on her way to her bedroom.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • But as she was blindfolded, the maid didn't notice and went on.

    • The fallen leaf remained on the ground until an embittered guard came to do patrol and, intrigued by the leaf's glow, put it on his pocket.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • The guard, who was very poor, went home immedialty to show his wife and two girls.

I like where this is going!

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • But his wife didn't like the gift and because she always hoped he would get promoted, she tried to burn the leaf in the fireplace.

    • Instead, the flames enhanced it's radiance and a beam of light shone so bright, the entire home illuminated.

The guard rushed to the fire...

    • and inside the flames was a little girl.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Her soft and kind voice said "Save me from the dungeon, and I will grant a wish." and immediately the fire went out.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • The Guard was startled. Then, out of the remains of the herb transformed into a key.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • He picked up the key and, suddenly, a voice spoke from the shadows.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • The voice was low and hoarse, and said, "Do not listen to the girl, in the fire. She will deceive you, and cause nothing but misery."

I am very intrigued, by the story's tone, so far.

The wife urged her husband to make an extravagent wish, like the little girl instructed, as she always wanted after the things they never had.  The guard would not be persuaded, choosing to follow the voice of caution.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • That night the wife woke up, and grabbed the key that was still lying in the fireplace. She put on a cloak and headed outdoors, to save the girl, after her husband refused to do so.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • She had to save the girl. When she arrived at the castle the King and Queen said there was no girl in a dungeon, but you could tell that they were keeping a secret

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • And as the guard's wife was in her way to the entrance of the Palace, reluctantly leaving, the key in her hand warmed up suddenly when she passed by a wooden door.

I am loving this :P It is exciting to write a sentece kind of expecting what to see next, and then find yourself wondering What is the King and Queen's secret?, What is actually behind that door?.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • She followed her instincts and opened the wooden door which led to a long corridor.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • As the guard's wife walked down the dark corridor, the key grew warmer in her hand.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • The Guard's wife, named Brianna, continued to walk down the corridor untill she saw the girl from the fire. The key was at its warmest.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • "Do not free the girl." a femenine voice said right before Brianna could open the door. It was the blindfolded maid. "Her eyes have magical powers, and will mislead you."

    • Since everyone is clearly enjoying this, I've decited to post a first summary already and we are doing great! We've been to it only 4 days and look at this! I also added a new sentence at the end.

Once upon a time, there were a king and queen. Everyone in the kingdom knew that they had a dark secret, but most had no idea what it was. I tried to correct some typing errors in the text, but since my mother tongue isn't English, there could still be some in there that I've missed.

    • "I prefer not to see her, why do you think I am blindfolded?" said the maid, "Because once you look right into her eyes, you see the thing you most desire. But I must warn you, it will come with a price that no one should be willing to pay."

I'm not offended by it Kilian, because we write the story together. As long as you say you did it and as long as it's only in the story, it's ok for me.

When the wife looked into the girl's eyes she saw not a black forest cake, but an incredibly handsome man with the kindest eyes, the warmiest smile, and clothing made from the finiest fabrics. The wife did not realize until now this man was truly her greatest desire. A man without a single flaw; a charming, handsome, wealthy man, a truly perfect man she desired over her husband.

I realize that everyone already has his own version of how this ends, but please, please, please, write only 1, max. 2, sentences and don't make them too long either. I know it's hard, but please try... It will make it nicer for everyone.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Märchenhaft is more like that something is magical, or fairy tale-like. But it doesn't mean fairy tale. It's just Märchen (fairy tales) and a Märch is a Wonderland, so that would be a nice name for the kingdom.

    • There was also quite a bit of people deciding they didn't like a previous post and "undoing" it... >.>

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Like what happened to Brianna's wish to have a cake :D Yeah, they ignored your post. But actually I kinda did some undoing as well, because "flood came and kill everyone"...I mean seriously? Not that I had anything against that post but it was just a lame attempt from poster to come out of the blue and end the story.

    • Undoing an obvious troll is fine, imo. It was all the "I don't like _____, so my next post will wipe it out." It's unfair and drives people away. We need to work with what's already established :)

      I couldn't agree more.

    • O.K. now that we have all agreed that we do not want it to end so I'll start at when the battle of Brianna and Elizabeth began.

They both use magical spells on each other and they are both knocked out.The Man in The Little Girl's eyes which is also Brianna's desire comes and wakes up Brianna.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • But when she woke up, instead of the Man there was a black forest cake that Brianna wanted so badly. She reached for a cake but suddenly she heard a voice of the Man that sounded like the most beautiful ballad she's ever heard:"If you eat that cake, you'll never save me Brianna"

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Brianna then decides to save the man and throws the cake out of the kingdom and over the mountin's

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • But the cake landed on Elizabeth's head! Elizabeth had a previously unknown hatred of cakes and became furious

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Elizabeth battles Brianna with the Man watching behind them.

    • Brianna dies

    • Or so everyone thinks...

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Brianna has faked her death and the only person who knows is the man and they go into hiding and get married.

    • Elizabeth finds out and goes on the hunt for her with a few heros...

Meanwhile Brianna and her new man took residence in a quiet valley filled with growing herbs, which were the same ones her ex-husband brought back home once, the thing that started all this.

    • But after finding for Brianna and her man for 20 years Elizabeth finally gave up looking for them and began her new hobby baking!

    • Brianna remembered what blindfolded maid told her about going back where all of this started, so she picked one of the roses. "Oh my God' she cried after she had a strange vision. "It was not a baby boy that survived royal massacre, it was a baby girl!"

    • What Baby Boy and what Royal Masscare

"Charles was actually the last surviving member of the dynasty that ruled the kingdom before current king overthrown them with the help of Elizabeth." Baby boy is Charles, so the point is - it was not him who is the heir to the throne.

    • Um actually, Elizabeth was the one who helped current king to win the throne but he later betrayed her so that's why she was using Charles. She can't be the baby girl. Btw, things are not supposed to resolve so fast in fairytales like it happened in your last post :)

    • And plus I thought Charles was dead.
