  • The heroes used his ship to get to Neverland... Why couldn't they just use it to head back to the enchanted forest? I just don't get it, but on the other hand... Storybrooke will be back anyways and soon this whole "curse being undone" storyline, will be completely behind everyone, because new threats and strorylines will emerge.

    • They used a magic bean portal to get to Neverland... and they didn't go back to the EF by choice.

    • To go to Neverland in the first place, as utter says, they needed a bean.

They used the ship to get back to Storybrooke with the unwiling help of the Shadow, because it can fly between -as far as we know- the Land Without Magic and Neverland. Even if the shadow could have been able to fly to the Enchanted Forest, and even if you want to assume that EVERY LIVING PERSON from the WHOLE Enchanted Forest and probably people from other worlds that were originally brought to Storyrbooke, and others who arrived later, fit in the relatively small Jolly Roger, the Shadow was burnt. That, plus utter's response, is why they don't use the ship.

EDIT: Plus, if they are heroes, I doubt they would've left to the EF and leave the rest of Storybrooke be cursed by Pan ;)

    • Rumplestiltskin also got them to Neverland but he's dead at the time so don't think that would of worked.

    • But they brought Pan to Storybrooke, so by returning, they put Storybrooke in danger.

    • @Killian YES except one minor thing, the Shadow can fly to the EF, as was shown when he went to get Roland and got stuck with Neal in episode 3 of this season hahaha.

@August They didn't do it on purpose though!

    • I just found a possible plot hole. If Rumple is able to extract his own shadow (and we know he is) the way Pan does and his shadow is able to fly between realms, why didn't he send it to find Bae or used it the way Storybrook gang did, so he could go to the Land Without Magic himself?

I think it's the assumption that his shadow is able to fly between realms. We don't know that it can, for all we know, it traveled on the Jolly Roger.

I hope it is, otherwise it is a huge plot hole. Though they can always say that Rumple just recently learned how to extract his shadow.

    • It might be because Pan's shadow was The Shadow, not a shadow like Rumple's. It became part of him but was its own entity before. Maybe it had powers other shadows don't have, and Rumple's shadow could cross realms just to be reunited with his body, not by some intrinsic power it had.

    • Because the writers didn't want them too.

Rumple thought Bae was dead so he never thought to send his shadow to confirm the death. Also Rumple didn't know shadows could travel between realms. Bae came up with using the shadow to get back to the Land Without Magic. Rumple is a bit out of his element in Neverland. He has his magic, but insn't the most powerful or feared.

Also Pan said he can sense when someone is trying to leave Neverland. He can stop anyone from leaving.

    • I was referring to the time before the Curse, when Rumple was still trying to find Bae. Anyway, GothicNarcissus already gave a nice explanation.

    • I was thinking of it earlier today after rewatching the episode. It might also be that Rumple's shadow could not cross realms at all and was just hidden on the Jolly Roger for the return trip. After all, fat chance Rumple would leave his dagger behind in Neverland, right? Maybe he just kept it hidden on the ship with his shadow until everything went back to normal but called it later in the emergency.
