  • When the curse is destroying the town, you can see Rumple as a silhouette. That means he is in the EF with everyone else. I have a screenshot, but I cannot upload it. It is right after Emma and Henry leave, and it is just for a split second.

    • I thought that was Regina? Though I could be mistaken.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • No, it is definitely Gold's distinctive hair. Also, it is mid-Storybrooke, and Regina was at the town line.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • interesting

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Just rewatched that scene and I'm still not sure if it isn't Regina. Looks a lot like her hair as she had it while saying goodbye and starting her magic. I interpreted it as the last look of Regina to her son.

But it wouldn't surprise me if Rumple would still turn out to be in the EF, even if it would turn the seer's vision to be false - for the moment at least. Even if I love the character I thought his "undoing" was perfect, he overcame his father's inheritance that always marked him and sacrificed not just himself but the power of the Dark One itself for the people he loved, that was very touching.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • No, that's Regina, for sure. It's her hair and her trench coat (its thicker thant Gold's jacket would be).

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Definitely Regina

    • I think Mr. Gold is out there some where maybe they will build on the area that philip's soul was sent to and they will find Mr. Gold there. I just hope he isn't dead, I've watched the show every week since it premiered in 2011, and Mr. Gold is my favorite character.

    • You never know, they could have some weird loophole. Whoever kills The Dark One becomes The Dark One himself, right? The dark one kills himself, what happens? I hope so!

Zoso didn't have the dagger. I mean, it was not in his own possession. He needed it to be retrieved in the first place.

Answer? Maybe the answer lies in the cuff. When Rumple had the cuff, he wasn't the Dark One. He was back to being the village coward. The cuff allowed Rumple to do what needed done ;/

If stealing back the Dark One's Dagger was so easy, then Rumple wouldn't have gone above and beyond multiple times to prevent other people from getting it, would he? :)

By logic, once someone gets control over the Dark One by owning the dagger, the Dark One must be restrained from turning against them. That's why Zoso had Rumple stealing the dagger for him, and probably also why Gold had Mary Margaret kill Cora to get the dagger back.

    • i think that if rumple lives he will fill the role for the wizard of oz

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Since people are saying that Rumple because he died as a regular human being instead of the Dark One, then it is a possibility that he could still be alive. If not, then they should introduce Hercules, or at least Hades. (WAIT…KEEP ON READING!! No need for the hate yet)

OUAT already introduced a few Greek myths such as Pandora’s Box, mermaids etc, then introducing Hades, isn’t a bad idea. Remember Zoso isn’t the original Dark One, he somehow got the dagger somewhere. Maybe the dagger, which originally belonged to Hades (the first Dark One), was stolen. The dagger could be used to enhance the guy’s power, but since it was stolen, Hades is left a tad bit defenseless.

That’s where the whomever kills the Dark One without the dagger will possess the power etc. will come into play. Once the person who possessed the dagger dies, they will be enslaved by you-know-who, paying the debt for stealing from a god, even though, it’s technically not their fault. So…in conclusion, Rumple and Pan could both be trapped in the underworld being a slave to Hades. In order for Rumple to live again, is to free from the underworld, then maybe Hercules will come in to help. I like this idea.

    • What's going to be interesting now is if the theory of "Rumple no longer has the powers of the Dark One" is true, will Rumple be the same kind of man?

I think he can learn magic; Cora did without any prior knowledge or talent (that we know of) and Rumple, I think, should still have his powers, not because he needs them, but because there's more that needs defending; make him like the Sorcerer from the Sorcerer's Apprentice.

But the theories of Rumple being in the underworld now have some merit and are a very good idea; but I don't want to make Belle wait that long to find him because it looks like it's all about the Wicked Witch and Oz in March, which I'm excited about.

    • Why would he need to learn magic if he's not the dark one? After all this time he should just know how to use magic without having to have his dark one powers.

There was never any indication that Rumple had any magic powers before he had the power of the Dark One.

    • ^ I know there wasn't any indication but my point is,  Cora and Regina learnt to use magic without any dark one powers. Peter Pan was also using magic outside Neverland (in Storybrooke). I also think that there was a passing indication that Rumple was brought up by spinner sisters (who gave him magic bean 3x08) could be witches.

That's an interesting point. Even though he wasn't a wizard before he became Dark One maybe he could still have magical abilities since he was able to teach both Cora and Regina who were ordinary humans (same goes for Red Queen). Unless Cora and Regina were born with magic, just like Emma, so they only needed a proper training to become witches.

I support that theory. I didn't pay attention if Gold still had the cuff on when he returned again. But I think it doesn't require magic to call your shadow back again. So if he wasn't the Dark One atm, and then killed himself although there was no Dark One, then he would be the Dark One again? Very confusing xD.

Oh I still think Rumple was technically the Dark one. Just like Regina was still the evil Queen. But their magic is just "muffled". Rumple was like a " Ferrari w/o the engine inside" xD

    • While I hope Mr. Gold is alive, I would really prefer Peter Pan to be dead. I love the character, and he could still appear in some flashbacks, but this would leave room for new characters in present day. And making the two resurrect would decrease the importance of their scene in last episode, if both happened to be alive directly in next episode.

Robbie Kay implied that Malcolm would survive by telling that their relationship will change in "Going Home" and "it will be interesting to see where they go as the season progresses".

I agree with you. But I really hope Malcolm doesn't survive because it will not make any sense. In fact I was hoping they could show these deaths in season finale and that way we could say goodbye to Rumple too but when he died (sort of) people couldn't even get chance to mourn for him. His heroism would've been perfect in the end of season or series. Now it seems redundant to some extent.Like he died and others had too much on their mind and couldn't give any thought to it.

Maybe you guys allready got to that part, I don`t know I`m lazy to read it all. Actually if you think better he stabed himself thrue stabing his dad. Could that mean that he "killed" himself and got the powers back? And mostly I sems that the whole town was transported back but the gang was somewhere else because they were on the town edge with Emma and regina and so they were simbolicly saved. maybe the other sitizens have lost their memories, mybe not.

    • Here's my guess:

In "Red Handed", Granny made a direct reference to the Underworld - ("I'll sleep with the trolls in the Underworld", or something to that effect, when she was chastizing the hunters of her village for going after the wolf)

By Season 2, Cora mentioned to Aurora that after Prince Phillip's soul was sucked out by the wraith, it was sent to a different world, where it could be retrieved.

Since Rumple killed himself along with Pan, maybe their souls went to the Underworld. It would be cool to see all of the characters who died (i.e - Snow Whites mother, Regina's father, Cora, etc.) again, which could lead to several characters having tearful reunions and also give insight to how characters changed after they died. Plus, Hades could easily be introduced into the plot, as Emma/Regina might make a deal with him to retrive Rumple's soul (and possibly the other souls of those they lost).
