  • Maybe it was just an easter egg, but did anyone notice the woman standing behind Eric at the ball? While him and Ariel are dancing there is a unquiely dressed women, she has dark hair, is wearing drapped light blue, with her torso showing. He meantions Agrabah. I know everyone in Eric's kingdom had a more modern fashion sense than previously seen, but it was different. Just a thought :)

    • Oh, that's a great question!  Perhaps it was.  I have to re-watch when I get home now.

I noticed the Agrabah comment, as well.  It made me think of OUAT in Wonderland, wondering if there'll be any crossover.

Modern fashion sense: I noticed the ball gowns weren't traditional, either.  Shorty-short dresses!!!  Initially I thought it was odd.  Then wondered if this was intentional, to highlight the fact that Ariel has legs right then.

I believe, the short dresses were an intentional decision, to highlight Ariel's new legs.

In the Broadway  adaptation of The Little Mermaid, Ariel wore tea-length dresses. It was to showcase her feet.... and that she would dance, as a way to communicate, with Eric.
