The infamous Six-Leaf clover of Oz. They say it can transform you into anyone you wish to be.

Robin Hood to Marian src

The Six-Leaf Clover is a magical item featured on ABC's Once Upon a Time. It first appears in the seventeenth episode of the fourth season.

The Six-Leaf Clover is based on the six-leaved clover from L. Frank Baum's children's novel The Patchwork Girl of Oz.

History

Before First Curse

Assuming power in Oz's Emerald Castle, Zelena gains a six-leaf clover, an item used to glamour oneself as another person. Robin, attempting to steal vials of elixir from the palace on Rumplestiltskin's orders, is caught by Zelena, before escaping with one vial. He then breaks his deal with Rumplestiltskin and gives the elixir to someone else who needs it more than him. Before leaving Oz, Robin procures a six-leaf clover, which he vows to use to disguise himself if ever faced with Rumplestiltskin again. ("Heart of Gold")

With his wife Marian pregnant and very ill, Robin glamours himself as another man in order to sneak into Rumplestiltskin's castle and steal a magic wand to heal her from his collection of magical artifacts. When caught, he attempts to kill Rumplestiltskin, who is affected by his bow's arrow. Imprisoned and tortured, Robin's magic disguise still remains, and he continues to don the glamour even after being freed by Belle. Shortly after this, however, Rumplestiltskin tracks down his whereabouts, eventually learning he is Robin Hood. With the wand, Robin heals his wife, and while the couple reunite, the Dark One prepares to kill him. Belle, realizing Marian is pregnant, begs him to be merciful, as the child will be fatherless if he kills Robin. Only then, Rumplestiltskin relents, allowing his arrow to hit a carriage, which startles the couple into fleeing. ("Lacey")

After Second Curse

Before being taken to Storybrooke by the curse, Zelena takes a six-leaf clover with her for the journey. After she is killed by Mr. Gold, her life essence lingers, activating the time spell, before traveling to the past along with Emma and Hook. There, Zelena regains her body and spies on them as they plan to bring a woman named Marian with them to present-day Storybrooke. While Emma and Hook are away from an unconscious Marian, Zelena kills her, absorbing her essence into the six-lead clover, before she assumes her form. ("Heart of Gold")

Still in her Marian disguise, Zelena builds a new life with Robin Hood and Roland in New York City, where they run into Mr. Gold, who is dying from the poison of his dark deeds. Bound to his sense of honor, Robin assists Mr. Gold by procuring an elixir to heal him. When Zelena finds out, she secretly switches it out. Later, she uses the clover to remove her Marian disguise and reveal herself to a shocked Mr. Gold. ("Heart of Gold")

When Regina arrives in New York to warn Robin about Zelena, the latter returns, in her Marian disguise. At first, Zelena feigns ignorance so Robin will defend her against Regina's accusations, but after Robin sides with his "wife", she uses the six-leaf clover to revert to her true self. ("Lily")

Intending to go back to Oz, Zelena uses the Apprentice's wand on her clover necklace to create a cyclone, but this drains her magic, giving Regina the chance to render her powerless again. As the cyclone spins through Storybrooke, Regina seeks shelter in the diner with several other people, where she redirects the cyclone into taking them to Emma. ("The Dark Swan")
