Biography
Sean Martin Michael Maguire[2] was born on April 18, 1976 in the town of Ilford in the county of Essex in the United Kingdom. He is one of six children; his siblings are Darren, Ciaran, Michael, Ellie and Katherine Maguire.[2] Sean began acting at the age of five in John Mortimer's autobiographical television adapted film A Voyage Round My Father. At eleven, he became well known as Terence "Tegs" Ratcliffe in the British television drama Grange Hill from 1987 to 1991 followed by his appearance in British soap opera EastEnders as Aidan Brosnan. Briefly, in 1994, Sean pursued a singing career with his debut album entitled Sean Maguire, which continued through into 1996 to include both a second album and a compilation album in 1998. Overseas, he was well received in the 2008 American spoof film Meet the Spartans.[1]

Trivia

- His favorite Once Upon a Time filming location is Burnaby's Central Park.[9]
- Is close friends with Once Upon a Time co-star Colin O'Donoghue.[10]
- Is close friends with Once Upon a Time co-star Robbie Kay and lived with him during filming.[11]
- Found playing Robin of Locksley more interesting than playing Robin Hood.[12]
- Originally, Adam Horowitz met Maguire for "Pilot" and wanted him to audition for the role of Sheriff Graham. However, he did not as he was offered another role on a comedy pilot, which ended up not being picked up.[13]
- Acts opposite fellow Once Upon a Time actor Chad Rook on the Timeless episode "Party at Castle Varlar".
- Had recurring roles as Sir Effingham and the Dark King Rupert Chatwin in The Magicians, with Keegan Connor Tracey (Professor Eleanor Lipson; OUAT's Blue Fairy) and David Anders (Visigoth Overlord Terrence; OUAT's Dr. Frankenstein/Dr. Frank Whale). The show is about a group of people from our world who study magic at Brakebills University and learn that the magical land of Fillory (the subject of an in-universe book series similar to The Chronicles of Narnia) is real.
- After the announcement that the seventh season would be the final season of the series, he wrote the following on Instagram:
- Sad to hear that Once upon a time is coming to an end. It was a great honor playing Robin Hood. I will cherish the incredible friendships I have made and always be indebted to the incomparable fans around the world who have given me so much. I wish love and the best of luck to everyone on their new ventures. @OnceABC @onceabcofficial[14]
