Scott Nimerfro was a writer and co-executive producer for ABC's Once Upon a Time.
Biography
A Minnesota native, Nimerfro worked as a writer and associate producer on HBO's Tales From the Crypt the mid-’90s version and later worked on the premium cabler’s short-lived Perversions of Science. He went on to pen episodes of such series as The Outer Limits, Special Unit 2 and ‘Til Death Do Us Part before landing a producing gig on ABC's quirky, stylish and genre-crossing series Pushing Daisies. Nimerfro started out as a co-producer on Season 1 in 2007 and was a producer for its final two seasons. He also wrote a pair of episodes, sharing a WGA Award nom in 2008.
He worked as a writer-producer on shows including The Gates and Ringer before joining Bryan Fuller for Hannibal in 2013, writing more than a half-dozen episodes of the NBC chiller and working as associate or co-exec producer on many more. He joined ABC's Once Upon a Time in 2014 and worked on 30-plus episodes as a co-EP and sometimes writer.
Nimerfro also served as associate producer on the documentary Trekkies (1997) and franchise-launching superhero pic X-Men (2000).
He was married to Lani Nimerfro and he has three children: Ila, Ruby and Cash. On his death, he was the partner of Kathrine Tchaikovsky.
Nimerfro died on April 18, 2016 from angiosarcoma, a form of cancer in the inner lining of the blood vessels. He was 54.
