Sage Brocklebank is the Canadian actor who portrays Gaston on ABC's Once Upon a Time in Season One.
Biography
Sage Brocklebank was born on January 14,[1] 1978[2] in Langley, British Columbia.[3] He has an extensive history in television for over ten years with appearances on Edgemont, Andromeda, Smallville, The 4400, Stargate SG-1, Riese: Kingdom Falling, Sanctuary, Fringe and Arctic Air, and in numerous television movies and movies-of-the-week. He is best known for his long-standing role as police officer Buzz McNab for seven seasons on USA Network's comedy-drama Psych.
Not only is he an actor, Sage loves to create plays for the Vancouver Fringe Festival. Shortly after working on a production with friends, Allen Morrison and Patrick Sabongui, they learned of the CineCoup contest with the winning prize being a chance to fund a feature-length movie. Their movie project, SCAM, was inspired several real-life incidents of phone scamming, including Sage's own run-in with an ex-phone scammer at a poker game.[3]
In 2010, he founded a volunteer mentorship program, Fulfilling Young Artists, for young actors based in Vancouver.[4]
Trivia
- Wes Brown replaced him in the role of Gaston in Season Five. However, Sage was seen again in Season Seven in archive footage from Season One, making him one of two cast members with the longest gap between their first and second appearances, with one hundred and twenty-one episodes separating "Skin Deep" and "Beauty".
- The same applies to Chris Shields, who portrays the Military Advisor.
