History

Before First Curse

In the Land Without Magic before it lost its magic, a a group of humans destroy the tree nymphs' grove and Gothel's fellow tree nymphs. Seeking vengeance, she finds the ones responsible, who are attending a ball. She kills several of them with her phytokinesis, but is able to bring a human named Seraphina over to her side. Gothel brings aggressive spore plants through the fireplace to expel poisonous spores into the building, killing all the remaining humans in the room. "They must all be made to pay!," she exclaims in rage as she unleashes the spores on the rest of the world, decimating the rest of the human population in this realm. She and Seraphina then leave this world behind, though Gothel knows that humanity will rise up again. ("Flower Child")

After Fourth Curse

Fed up with her mother's abuse, Drizella makes her way to the ruins of Gothel's old tower to find some magic she can use against her mother. She finds a mysterious box among the rubble and opens it, which unleaseshes an aggressive spore plant monster. It slithers out of the box and wraps its tentacles around her. It almost devours her but Regina, who is walking through the woods alone, spots her and destroys the with a well-aimed fireball. Upon realizing she just saved Drizella, she expresses regret over not letting her die as she once tried to kill her son. ("Wake Up Call")
