Nathan Parsons is the Australian actor who portrays Jack and Nick Branson on ABC's Once Upon a Time.


Nathan Dean Parsons was born on June 16, 1988[1] in Adelaide, South Australia[2] but raised in Colorado[3] and Texas.[4] He moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California after being accepted into their Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting program.[5] He is also a member of Boom Kat Dance Theatre, a non-profit dance company based in Santa Monica, California.[6] Boom Kat was made a resident company of the Miles Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica following the success of their production Neverwonderland in 2009 and 2010.[7]

As a child actor he did voice-over work dubbing Japanese anime for ADV Films, including the lead role of Jean Roque-Raltique in Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water and parts in Soul Hunter, Devil Lady and Jing: King of Bandits. Parsons has previously appeared in the 2007 horror comedy Teeth and the 2009 horror film The Brotherhood V: Alumni.[8]

Parsons originally auditioned for a different role on General Hospital and was not cast, but the series subsequently created a new character for him. He made his first appearance as con artist Ethan Lovett on 30 January, 2009.[9] Parsons was initially hired on a recurring basis but was soon put on contract with the series.[10] Parsons's debut storyline hinted at the secret parentage of his character Ethan. In December 2011, Parsons announced that he had decided not to renew his contract with General Hospital.[11] On April 2013, Parsons reprised the role of Ethan as part of the series' 50th anniversary.[12] He returned once more in 2015 to facilitate with the exit of Anthony Geary.[13]

After completing a stint on Bunheads, Nathan began to recur as Jackson Kenner on The Originals.[14] During this time, Parsons also acquired the role of James Kent during the final season of True Blood.[15] In March 2018, Parsons joined the cast of the CW's Roswell, New Mexico as Max Evans.[16] He will also appear in the 2020 Christian biographical drama I Still Believe.[17]
