Luckily I just happened to see this. You can see your block length and the reason given here, and more at our policies page here. If you prefer, you can contact me on my Community Central wall.
You were blocked for the blatant disrespect you showed on the forum. Since this is a second offense, this particular block is longer. I also explained it in the thread in question. We don't tolerate insults, direct or disguised, and I see no reason to lift or shorten this ban.
I hope I've answered any questions you may have :)
I’d rather you not be the one to decide, Utter Solitude, as you’d base it off bias and not context. The only thing I could think you’d confuse an insult with a simple observation is when I wrote comparing you with a child due to the level, or lack, of your maturity. It meant no insult, but you took it that way. I didn’t call you stupid, or a profanity. I was only comparing your stubbornness to agree to disagree, to a child being stubborn. Calling your opinions ‘factual’, as you did, can trigger these sorts of arguments, which you did and provoked. In my opinion, and others may agree, that is not your purpose as an admin to create arguments or provoke. IMO, admins are to facilitate, mediate, and assist.
In focus with our argument, I’d love for you to create a poll and ask users what THEIR opinion is of the show, on whether it IS or IS NOT a fairytale drama. (My side is “obviously it is”, your is “it’s factually not”. If a poll like that is not at least discussed and considered, I’ll assume that’s your privileged admin/dictator decision slash influence to control the OUAT wikia cyber-space, for fear of being wrong.
In my defense, I love OUAT! I watch it every Sunday, I even loved OUATiW. I like to share ideas about the show, and interact with other users’ interesting posts. This “offense” is rare, and strictly existed due to a provocation of an admin abusing their privileges and overstepping their boundaries. Calling their ideas/opinions ‘factual’ is to imply all other ideas or concepts are inferior or invalid, and undermine them. (To Utter, please look up fact and factual as you clearly do not know what they define). I apologizefor comparing Utter to a child, and using sarcasm to show the silliness of her ‘factual’ opinion <oxymoron. We all use sarcasm, especially those with a great sense of humor as I do a la April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation, and did not mean any offense to the adding of “Chucky, Hitler, and E.T” to the show, but meant it as a light humor because wouldn’t it be surreal and cool if it did? (obviously it won’t).
My recommendations: Don’t confuse sense of humor w/ evil-doing, and observation with insult. Branding me as rude or whatever is not a true representation of me, I’m rather quite sweet and understanding. Laugh a little, people.
You are disrespectful. Your reply here is also disrespectful and condescending. Hiding your insults by calling them observations does not negate that they are insults. However, I have solicited the input of other admins as you have requested.
The show is not just about fairytales, which is what you were claiming (that now you've changed, I see. "fairytale drama" is not what you were first claiming. Your original claim was "the show is about fairytales"). The creators have stated this themselves. You can choose not to believe that, but your opinion does not change that fact.
Your implication that I'm some dictator is ridiculous. You were banned for your insults, it's that simple. You still have the right to appeal it, as you are here. A dictator wouldn't allow that, now would they? Stop insulting me and attempting to condescend to me. Another disrespectful post will result in an extension of this ban.
You can't just call everything "disrepectful and rude". I can say "apples taste yummy" and you would say "that's disrespectful and rude"…”the sky is blue”… “That’s disrespectful and condescending”…”Regina’s my favorite character”… “That’s rude!”… I understand that's a tool people use for branding people they don’t particularly like, but it's not a good reason to go around blocking people. You're just a bully with privilege as an administrator, Utter Solitude. A bully with authority and this isn't a fair trial, if you will.
Like I said, administrators such as yourself, writing on forums that I think are meant for regular users to use, is kind of a conflict of interest between regulars and admins, because your ideas (as admin) are BOUND to differ others’, and create conflict, such as you did.
You argued in that post to another user:
Quite a few! [are non-fairytale characters] Midas and his daughter, Alice, the Wicked Witch, Pinocchio/Geppetto/Jiminy, Mulan, Peter Pan, the Siren, Lancelot, Robin Hood and his men.
At least with Pinocchio, I can argue that a Blue FAIRY was in that story, in Peter Pan: Tinkerbell. And like the word "fact" and "factual", you seem to not know the context of, history of, or definition of "Fairytale", which can also tie into myth, superstition, and folktales: they don't require fairies. I know it may come to a surprise... but that's actually a fact.
I have no issue debating what is or isn't a fairytale, my point was that not only fairytales are involved in the show. That's where we disagreed. That did not get you blocked.
What got you blocked was the insults. And what will get that block extended is continuing to insult me.
The forums are for everyone. I am a regular user with extra tools I use to help the community. If you disagree with how I do that, I am fine with you telling me so, but insulting me is not permitted, just as it is not permitted for anyone to insult you.
Also, my name is "Utter solitude". The s is not capitalized. (Yeah, that's very minor, but it's a pet peeve XD )
You are being a little ridiculous. Go back and read your post that got you blocked in the first place and see how rude you were being. It isn't tolerated at all. We demand respect for everyone who edits here. There is a way to disagree and you did not do that. You were just flat out rude and insulting which is why you are blocked, because no one deserves to be talked to that way.
