  • Hey Lily, if you haven't read yesterday's community central accouncement yet, feel free to check it out. It's fairly big news regarding an upcoming MediaWiki update! We don't have too much details on it yet but for now just like to ensure you guys know Fandom will soon have a much more updated version of MediaWiki with more tools.

    • Hi Shade! I've already read it, but thanks for the heads up! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us.

  • Hiiii! I just thought I would give you a heads up about all the re-naming of images I have been doing lately. I am pretty sure I talked to you before about some images being labelled as PNG and png. You did mentioned that it does not matter, and has little value. But, when I was uploading images for "Down the Rabbit Hole", an issue arose. I can't recall the image where it all happened, but in a hypothetically sense. If one image is named W101Wonderland.PNG and you go to upload another image named W101Wonderland.png, it doesn't allow you. Because, clearly -- it's the same name.

But if you search W101Wonderland.png, nothing comes up and the file doesn't exist, even though when you go to rename the image, it tells you it does. It really doesn't have any value in the longevity of things, but I can understand people being confused by it, as I was when it first happened. I figured it would be easier if all images where under .png and I have been renaming them as such. I really hope that is okay and that I haven't stepped on any toes by doing so! Alternatively, if you still think it does not matter, I can stop the renaming. I just wanted to make sure it is alright. :-)

(I also worked out how image queue works when renaming images, so at least I can do them in big batches instead of one by one). xD

      Preparing Editor Spell
    • Hi Kyle! I don't mind if you rename them; it is completely fine with me and don't worry, you haven't stepped on any toes :-)

However, I have a question: I noticed that you have deleted many redirects lately. Do you tick the "Leave a redirect behind" box when you rename the pics? If the answer is yes, I recommend that you leave it empty; that will save you the trouble of deleting the redirects :-)

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Oh, oh oh! I didn't even notice the box. It has always been ticked for me. I wish I knew to untick it sooner, because deleting redirects gets annoying reaaaal fast. xD

  • I’ve finally got all the links to Baelfire that I can switched over, but in Special:WhatLinksHere/Baelfire I still have a few locked templates that have links to it, I was wondering I you could fix them (except the necessary ones for the main page of course), and likely others for Malcolm and Pinocchio.

    • Sorry about the delay. I happen to have a digital copy of the comic on Kindle, so if you want write the entries, I can provide images :-)

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Great! I'll do that sometime today.

  • I wasn't sure if I should add this bit to the references, but it's something I thought could fall under that category, but I wanted a second opinion. Ashley's Keychain is a little red shoe, (which I guess is a reference to Cinderella) but there is also a character on Lost, where the most obvious thing about the character was his red shoes. (This is the link to his article on the Lostpedia). But then again -- I might be reading too much into it. What do you think? xD

      Preparing Editor Spell
    • Schroeswald giving some opinions, the red shoe guy is sort of important to his one episode, it might not be a reference but plenty of the stuff we already have there might not be references (mostly quite a few of the uses of the numbers [but not 815, that’s definitely a reference, though it eventually just references Once]).

Hmm. According to the description, the Lost character only appears in a single episode and is quickly killed off... In my personal opinion, Ashley's keychain is most likely a co-incidence.

The numbers are not a co-incidence. The show deliberately fills dialogue, props etc. with Lost numbers and that is deliberate. We know this from interviews and episode guides, which are linked to as sources. Unless we have a good reason to believe otherwise, we add it.

  • He's falsely accusing me and twisting truths by saying I am cumventing consensus on a certain page, and talking his way around when I informed what was going on. I know that people in wikis were known to add words/links/pictures, and change or fix certain things in every wiki page, but he wrongly called it circumventing. It was unfair and unjust.

None of what he said is the truth. It's hurtung my feelings. Circomventing had nothing to do with it. I added things by clicking the edit button. I only assumed the edit button is free for us to click and change, add words/pictures/links, or fix some errors and spelling errors. Again, it was not Circomventing anything. Will you please tell him to stop calling it that unfairly? Sorry to sound so complainy about this, but he's gone too far with this.

During this forum, when I was one of those expressing possibilities to 8Rob, Matheus1234zx was deliberately telling a false claim (which only really his opinion) that the show is never coming back when he doesn't know that. It felt hurtful, down heartening, unnecessary, and not helping when he does not know a thing about what might or might not happening. I know we all don't. Thank you.

    • TIAB, you're right that what Matheus said was an opinion and not a fact. But a lot of people also believe what he is thinking and you can't report him for being "down heartening" and not agreeing with you.

About the The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark page, Schroeswald is right. You cannot add that if people don't agree in comments.

TIAB, I'm sorry to hear that your feelings were hurt, but he wasn't telling a false claim, he was merely stating his opinion. He didn't mean to hurt anyone. Phrasing opinions as if they're facts is a common way of speaking.

As for The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, which you mention here: If I remember correctly, there was a consensus not to include Hook as Claudius. You can't overrule that by adding it.

  • I noticed Thor's hammer appeared in Quite a Common Fairy, added this to the episode's cultural references and to list of Disney references pages but it has been taken away twice. Can I ask why? I know it might not have been you, but the hammer is credited under Skin Deep so why not again at Quite a Common Fairy on reference pages (it is when Neal searching for a portal you can see it). Ps fellow Star Wars and Harry Potter fan :). Thank you. WendyDarling19!

    • Quick explanation from my message wall, its because it appears quite frequently so we just put it in the first episode.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • That's fair! It's probably in every single episode and I just haven't noticed it :) Thanks for responding so quickly!
