As you've probably noticed, it has become increasingly difficult to get people to vote for quotes, images, and changes to article. I have created a Discord channel/group of voters; at the moment, it consists of me, Utter, Schroe and Math.
The idea is that at set times once or twice a week (we still haven't worked out all the details), a list of pages which need consensuses, is published, and then these users cast their votes within 24 hours. Other users can also vote, of course, but unlike other users, the members of this group are required to do so. Would you be interested in joining us?
Wonderful! The channel is called Voting. When you have the time, please go there and scream, at the top of your lungs, "Who stole my kraken???"; that is our secret password (kidding, lol; alternatively, you can just say, "I'm in", or something 😉 ).
I just suggested to the other members that we (as in I, Nightlily) try posting the list once a week at first, and I asked them if Mondays is okay with them. Is Mondays okay with you? (You can answer me here, or on Discord, it doesn't matter.)
I've told the others that the list will be posted on Mondays at approximately 2 PM Eastern Standard Time. I just posted the list, which consists of three articles, but you have already voted for two of them. The one you haven't voted for/shared your opinion on is the Savior's Wand; a rename was suggested two years ago and it still hasn't been decided, it is ridiculous lol. Can you look into that?
Note: I am giving you the information on your wall this time, but after this, you will have to go to Discord to check on the list on Mondays :-)
Me and my fellow admins appreciate the great work you've done for this wiki over the years and we would like to offer you the position of Content Moderator. This means that, in addition to the rights that you already have (rollback rights, and deleting and renaming files), you will be able to delete article comments, move protected pages (only unprotected pages can be moved by anyone and all of our pages are protected), undelete files and pages, edit fully protected files and pages (such as templates), delete unwanted pages, and protect and unprotect pages. Are you interested?
There you go, you are officially our new Content Moderator! Congratulations, you've earned it!
I've updated our staff page. If you want to, you can add a description of yourself, like several of the other staff members have.
If I remember correctly, your color was chosen along with Kyle's as image mods' colors... If you wish to pick a new one, feel free to do so. Or you can keep the current one, if you wish. It's up to you 😃
Hey! In order to get rid of trolls more quickly in the future, we're giving all staff members rollback rights. This means that you can undo (rollback) all edits by one user in a single click, which removes their edit(s) from the Recent Activity feed. Use it well, and let me know if you have any questions!
It would be wonderful if you could join us! If you don't want people to know your real identity, you can easily create an account with a nickname or alias. You don't have to share anything you're not comfortable with :-)
Since the names Briar Rose and Aurora are common names for the Sleeping Beauty and both of them are used, do you think that Aurora’s grandmother (Queen Briar Rose’s Mother) was called Queen Talia, After the heroine in Sun, Moon and Talia, which the original Sleeping Beauty was based on? And do you think her husband was called King Stefan, since there are 2 Phillips in Once Upon a Time?
Hi, I recently changed the settings for the abuse filter and it seems like you were accidentally affected by it; it isn't supposed to affect regular users, only new users (as you know, trolls love to pepper us with taboo words and profanity and the abuse filter is supposed to stop them). I've reverted the settings and unblocked you. Sorry about that.
Just to tell that you may have some big issues to fix with your current browser :/ I know you did not do it on purpose... But, look at what you did by mistake on Zelena's page here.
You basically replaced all templates by the Icon one :/ So, I don't know what are your issues with your browser exactly, but maybe you should contact Wikia/Fandom just in case? If I remember correctly, you talked about doing it somewhere, but I don't know what they told you :/
In any case, you might need to be a bit more careful to avoid this kind of situation again ^^'
Sorry about that. I'v contacted wiki with issues I had prior, and haven't had them since, but this has never happened before. I'll try using other bowsers, and contact them again. Thanks for the heads up.
Can you please tell me how you go about uploading images? I notice that every time you upload an image, there is an empty field under the "summary" headline on the page for the picture. The licensing field is filled out, but there is nothing listed under summary. Summaries are not required in any way (people use them to provide information about their image source, but this is not mandatory), but if you are not going to leave a summary, you should leave out that field instead of adding an empty one.
Sorry about that. When I Upload multiple images, in the summary box, i type in the categories the image belongs to. I didn't realise it left an empty summary heading. Next time I upload, I'll either add my source, or categorise the images one by one, so it doesn't happen again. (btw, when you add images to galleries, do certain parts of the gallery disappear, when you publish?, It happens to me, automatically, alot)
I see. What you can do to avoid this is to skip the licensing field and instead paste everything into the summary field. For example:
That takes care of the problem and will also categorize the images so you don't have to do it one by one. Or you can simply add your source; it's your call :-)
As for the problem you describe: No, that has not happened to me. It is a mystery to me why this glitch keeps hitting you and not the others. It must be a real pain for you... Have you tried using different browsers? A different computer?
I may be wrong about this, but I believe the reason the issue happens is because when you put in [[Category:Pilot Images]], Wikia thinks that is the summary. I uploaded an image before and it did the exact same thing. It is more of a glitch on Wikia's part than anything.
Also, certain parts of the gallery do not disappear for me. But I do have the issue where the "----" moves itself right after the end of a template, instead of leaving it directly under it. It happens a lot on gallery pages and the cast pages.
Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was just my computer. I use chrome, but I don't have the same issue on other browsers (but I still use chrome because its faster). If your ok with using another browser, the issue shouldn't appear.
I see that the problem is still occurring. Are you still using Chrome? If so, you should switch to a different browser permanently; the way you keep reverting your edits to fix the damage causes a long list of images to appear in Recent Wiki Activity at once and it kind of clogs up the page.
I see. Could you install at least one or two more browsers and try with them? Personally, I have five different browsers on my computer; I even used to have six, before I had to reboot the system; my computer is on its last legs... (Hey, before you judge me; two came with the computer, one came with some software and I downloaded the remaining two ;-) )
Hi. My other compter, which was used to sort galleries, is being used by someone else, so I only have access to my main laptop for now. I don't know how long this will be, so apologies if there are problems when I edit galleries in the future. I have made an enquiry to the community wikia, about this issue.
Hi. Iv'e been usiong another browser, and I thought the problem was dealt with, but it happened again (I assumed it was a problem just on Google Chrome). I've sent a bug report, and I messaged on the community wikia for help, but I haven;t got any response back. Do you have any suggestions?
