Geppetto's Home is an Enchanted Forest location featured on ABC's Once Upon a Time. It first appears in the twentieth episode of the first season.
Geppetto's Home is based on the location of the same name from the story The Adventures of Pinocchio, and the Disney film Pinocchio.
History
On the night Snow White and Prince Charming learn the prophecy about their unborn daughter Emma and the Evil Queen's dark curse, Snow makes a wish to help Emma have a happy ending, which the Blue Fairy grants by causing everyone to break out into song. The next morning, Geppetto is in his home with Pinocchio as they work on a new toy. He sings about his son helping him to build it and how proud of him he is, to which Jiminy Cricket chimes in afterwards with his own cricket singing. Unbeknownst to them, the Evil Queen watches them through a mirror, as the Magic Mirror shows her the denizens of the kingdom singing happily with hope and joy about the future. Regina becomes more and more frustrated and starts singing her own song. During a portion of her verses, she enters their home, terrorizes them and breaks their possessions, causing Pinocchio to hide under the table. ("The Song in Your Heart")
During a clock repair lesson, Pinocchio mischievously ties up Jiminy so he is stuck inside. Only when the Blue Fairy arrives, Pinocchio, out of fear of turning back into wood, apologizes for his actions. Nonetheless, she did not arrive to punish him, but is here to speak with Geppetto. The latter sends the boy up to his room upstairs. The fairy brings bad news: The Evil Queen threatens the entire kingdom with a curse that will rip away all that they love. The Blue Fairy requests that he fashion an wardrobe from the last enchanted tree so two people, namely Charming and Snow, can safely go through the wardrobe to another land and be protected from the curse's effects until the prophesied time of twenty-eight years in which their child will break the curse. - There is a navy officer doll in Geppetto and Pinocchio's home,[1] which can also be seen in Emma's nursery room in "Pilot",[2] and at the market that Jefferson and Grace visit in "Hat Trick".[3] ("The Stranger")
- Geppetto's home is filled with marionettes,[4] a nod to his son and his original job from The Adventures of Pinocchio and the Disney film. ("The Song in Your Heart")
