David starred on the show for three and half years, during which time he won the 1997 Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role and the 1998 Gemini Award for Best Dramatic Series.[2]

He has also starred in the American series Robbery Homicide Division and has appeared as Det. Lee Scanlon in the NBC series Medium. He first appeared in season 1 and appeared until the show was cancelled. He appeared in the NBC disaster miniseries 10.5 and 10.5: Apocalypse.
