Now that we've seen her even dressed in modern clothes, shouldn't we create an "Aurora (Storybrooke)" page for her "After Second Curse" history? Technically she was cursed and brought to the LWM by Snow.
That's the exact issue that needs to be cleared up (whether Aurora and Phillip were actually "cursed" not not) before we consider making SB counterpart pages for them. We know they were in Flying monkey form since before the second curse was cast by Snow White, and they remained as such until Regina stripped Zelena of her magic in SB.
In my opinion, seeing Aurora in modern clothes is not enough evidence to support she was cursed. That's her only changing clothes, which is the same thing Hook has done this season, yet it's more clear in his case he's never been cursed since he left the EF on both occasions prior to the curse casting. What I would like to know is if Aurora and Phillip remained in flying monkey form that whole time, can they be considered cursed? At the same time, it can be considered they were cursed since they were brought over to SB. As powerful as Zelena is, I doubt she could bring over her flying monkey pets by magic alone, especially since travelling between worlds requires a large scale of amassed magic to open a portal (a curse/magic bean/portal device). For the first curse, Regina had the power to take whoever she wanted. Did Snow White have the same power to do so, and is that why Aurora and Phillip ended up in SB too?
The First Curse brings the vast majority of the Fairy Tale World (The Jolly Roger proves the Curse didn't even take the entire world, just massive parts of the Enchanted Forest continent) and also brings the corpses of Henry Sr. and Daniel due to Regina's power to bring anyone she chooses. This same power brings Jefferson from Wonderland (leaving the rest of the world unscathed, as seen in Once: Wonderland) and Frankenstein from Black and White Germany (presumably leaving it unscathed as well).
The Second Curse cast by Snow brings back EVERYONE from the First Curse to Storybrooke, along with everyone within the Curse's reach at that time, because knowing Snow, she would've wanted to "Protect everyone from Zelena's wrath". And we know that Ariel and Eric were outside of the Curse's reach from the information in The Jolly Roger, so there's still plenty of people (probably including Arendelle) who haven't been brought over with the Curse.
It would have made more sense if she had only brought who she needed to Storybrooke with her instead of every single person in the Enchanted Forest since they would be dwelling in an entirely different world apart from where Zelena is once the Dark Curse finishes enacting. That would guarantee their safety. However, unfortunately, this was not done for the sake of television because the writers would like as many as characters as they are able to use if the plot requires them.
I don't think it is possible to select whom you bring. We have two directly dissenting statements about that in S2.
- Regina sais she brought whomever she wanted (2x05).
- Regina needed to have Cora murdered so she would not come to the Land Without Magic (2x09).
So, if statement #1 is true, she could have just chosen not to bring Cora and leave her be in Wonderland. I think she was referring to the deceased in that statement, i.e. not bringing Cora's (supposed) corpse along. The Curse is unstoppable (except for Cora's shield, which only protected from half its effect anyway) and just brings everyone in reach. Also, it is possible that Arendelle is not out of reach, but all the people there were frozen so the Curse "skipped" them.
It's entirely possible that the Curse hand picks whoever comes through the caster's subconscious desires. Since Regina always wanted her mother, the Curse would've brought Cora from Wonderland and given her a Storybrooke persona where she was actually a decent mother. Or maybe since Regina is extremely impulsive, if she knew her mother was alive, she would've brought her along against her common sense. That's easily explainable through Regina's mommy issues.
And I definitely think Ingrid's curse shielded Arendelle from both Regina and Snow's curses. I also find it incredibly convinient that Ingrid's Cold Snap dissipates the second she casts the Spell of Shattered Sight.
