Sounds like a good novel, good luck with it :)
Oh no, that was unrelated to that idea, I just meant I don't want to copy from the show in general
As long as we're in the subject, there are five stories I not sure belong in a fairy tale novel; King Arthur Robin Hood Alice in Wonderland The Wizard of Oz Peter Pan
I know they've all been on the show, but should I be more strict to what is a fairy tale

It's up to you. Remember even in Once Upon a Time, the last 3 don't count (I think) as fairy tales either because they're not set in FTL, they're in other worlds. King Arthur is more a myth/legend than a fairy tale. Same goes for Robin Hood. I think the other 3 are too long and complex to count as fairy tales. If I read a novel about fairy tales I would expect Snow White, Cinderella, the Little Mermaid etc. I think if one of those 5 stories was used it would feel a bit out of place to me.

Thanks for your input, Pinnochio wouldn't be out of place would it? Technically it's a book, but its more like a fairy tale, sort of. Do people only think of Pinnochio as a fairy tale because it was a Disney movie?

I mean what is and isn't a fairy tale is subjective. Pinnochio has a fairy in it, but so does Peter Pan. Also, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was written by Baum because he wanted a fairy tale that didn't have the typical fantasy setting and characters, so it was a "modern fairy tale" if you will. Finally, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is also very fairy tale like. I will give you Arthurian Legend and Robin Hood are a bit less fairy tale like, but as you can see with Once, they can fit easily enough into the setting.
Not to mini-mod, but this is pretty off-topic to Heartless :P May I suggest that you take it to a private discussion such as a message wall? Or if you want it open to others' opinions, you could also start a public thread.

Sorry
I just noticed something.
When Hook is telling the story to Emma, we can see a picture of Hook and Emma at the ball in 3x21. And they look like themselves. But they were supposed to be under a glamour spell at that point, right?

Have we ever seen a character under a glamor spell in the book? It's possible that the book just doesn't show those. Lots of books, movies, plays, etc. have characters magically disguise themselves but the readers/viewers don't actually see the disguise, just the characters.
also the writers forgot but shhhhhhh
TBF, Snow did not see the picture of Killain and Emma until AFTER they returned from the past (time travel is such a royal pain to continuity).
