The Bean Fields are a Storybrooke location on ABC's Once Upon a Time. They first appear in the thirteenth episode of the second season.
History
Kidnapped to Storybrooke by Cora, Anton gathers with the townspeople in the diner. Learning of their desire to travel back home to the Enchanted Forest, the giant reveals to possess a beanstalk stem which, if cultivated, might produce magic beans. Taken by David to some fields to examine the soil, Anton believes it is fertile. As Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Happy, Leroy and Walter accept him as a friend, the giant is given his own dwarf pick ax with the nickname "Tiny". Immediately, the seven workers begin to dig the soil to plant the beanstalk stem. Some time later, they enlist Mother Superior to cast a cloaking spell so that intruders are kept out of the fields. ("Tiny," "Lacey")
After killing Cora, Mary Margaret decides to go for a walk to clear her mind. David offers to go with her, but the schoolteacher is determined to leave on her own and sends him to the bean fields. David admits that he is eager to work on the crop and comments how optimistic Anton is about the growing beans. ("Selfless, Brave and True")
Returning from New York, Emma is brought by her parents to the fields, where the beans have flourished in growth. When she learns of their plan to go back to the Enchanted Forest, Emma behaves reluctantly, but David and Mary Margaret insist that Storybrooke isn't really their home. At night, David drops the workers at the diner. As he drives away, Regina uses a tracking spell to see where the car has been in the last hour. Following the track to the empty field, she uses magic to enter the barrier. By setting a fire, Regina destroys all of the magic beans but one, which she takes to grow in her office. ("Lacey")
When David, Mary Margaret and Leroy return to the fields, they are shocked to see the whole crop was burnt. ("The Evil Queen")
Planning to return to her homeworld to reunite with others of her species, Ruby joins Anton in tending to the fields. They somehow manage to grow one single magic bean, which the girl uses to open a portal. ("The Bear King")
