Andrew J. West is the American actor who portrays adult Henry Mills on ABC's Once Upon a Time.
Biography
Andrew James West was born on November 22, 1983[1] in Merrillville, Indiana,[2] and grew up in the nearby town of Lake Station. He was interested in acting from an early age, but he did not actually get to throw himself into it until he went to Indiana University. At first he studied philosophy and anthropology, steering clear of the theatre department. However, that changed when he decided to start auditioning for university plays and began landing roles, including the lead in Eric Bogosian's Suburbia.[3] Then, he began writing, producing, and acting in short films with his college friends, some of which went to the festivals and won awards.
After moving to LA, Andrew started landing roles. After he had simultaneous recurring roles on Greek[4] and Privileged,[4] Andrew began to garner attention from producers and casting directors alike. From 2009 to 2012, he landed guest starring roles on hit shows such as Nip/Tuck, Bones, CSI: NY, Ghost Whisperer, Castle and Body of Proof.[4]
Trying his hand at comedy, Andrew landed the lead in the critically acclaimed web series, Rockville, CA[5] from Josh Schwartz. He scored the lead roles in two network pilots: ABC's Who Gets The Parents in 2010; and Family Practice in 2011. Both pilots were not picked up as series.
In 2014, Andrew appeared in a multi-episode arc on the hit AMC series The Walking Dead, playing Gareth, the head of Terminus.[6] His performance earned him a Saturn Award for Best Guest Starring Role on Television nomination. In 2015, he got a two-episode guest starring role on NBC's Under the Dome,[7] before shooting the lead role in the indie film Walter, opposite William H. Macy.
In 2016, Andrew shot the lead role in the indie feature film Middle Man, as well as the lead role in the Tom Kapinos' pilot Dead People. That same year, he also got a recurring role on Dead of Summer as Damon Crowley.[8]
West began dating actor Amber Stevens after they met on the television show Greek. They married on December 5, 2014, in Los Angeles.[9] On May 13, 2018, the couple announced Stevens' pregnancy via Instagram.[10]
