He returned as an Executive Story Editor and writer for the second season in fall 2010. He wrote or co-wrote a further four episodes of the show. He left at the end of the second season, having written for six episodes in total.

Chambliss is the writer for the ninth season of Whedon's Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, which is progressing as a comic series after having been canceled as a television show. In an interview with Hero Complex he said "'Buffy' is such a huge part of what made me want to become a writer, especially in television".
