Anastasia Griffith is the British actor who portrays Abigail and Kathryn Nolan on ABC's Once Upon a Time.

Biography

Anastasia Griffith was born on March 23, 1978 in Paris,[1] France and raised in London. Her parents are Northern Ireland actor,[2] Elizabeth Bamber and American-born Detroit[2] native Ralph Griffith. She has six older brothers, with one of them, Jamie, who is also an actor.[3]

Her school education includes studying art history at the University of Bristol and later attending the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. After university, she pursued work in film and television production and worked for some companies such as BBC. While time as a production assistant on the BBC show Hearts and Bones, she reached an epiphany of the acting process being a big part of the production experience and her interest in being an actor grew from there. Anastasia gave herself a year to get into drama school, and entered into London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.[2] Some of her earliest 2004 roles were in the TV movie Disappeared and movie Alfie as well as the short film Turn.

Following a spontaneous move to New York City three weeks in, Anastasia took a last minute audition on her agent's advice. Though the producers and writers loved her, their concern was Anastasia's sub-par American accent. This led her to speaking in only an American accent during her whole interactions with them., and was cast as the recurring character of Katie O'Connor on television series Damages for twenty-two episodes.[2] Following a guest star on both Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Amsterdam, she portrayed Nancy Carnathan on the 2009 NBC medical drama Trauma, though the show was cancelled after eighteen episodes in May 2010. Her most recent role is on BBC America's Copper as Elizabeth Haverford Morehouse.
