Amir Arison is the American actor who portrays young Sultan on ABC's Once Upon a Time.

Biography

Amir is best known for his role as Aram Mojtabai on the hit crime drama The Blacklist, and Mr. Shah in 2007's Oscar-nominated movie The Visitor. Both of his parents are doctors. He is a graduate of the Columbia University and began his acting career as an extra on the soap opera Guiding Light in 2003.^[1]

Amir has appeared in several plays over the years, and began his theater career starring in Omnium Gatherum^[2] and Modern Orthodox.^[3] He was part of the off-Broadway show Aftermath.^[4] In 2009, he was part of the Epic Theatre's Sunshine Series, a festival of free readings of new plays and musicals at the 13th Street Theatre.^[5]

Amir played an FBI Agent in four episodes of the American soap opera As the World Turns, and had a recurring role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Dr. Manning. He made special guest appearances in series like Fringe, NCIS, Medium and State of Georgia. In October 2011, he made guest appearances on Homeland as Prince Farid Bin Abbud for 2 episodes.^[6] The following month, he made a guest appearance on an episode of American Horror Story.^[7] After several more guest appearances on Gossip Girl, True Justice and The Mentalist, he was cast in Bryan Singer's digital series H+ as Dr. Gurveer.^[8] In late 2012, he signed on for a recurring role on ABC's Zero Hour.^[9] In October 2013, he began a recurring role in NBC's The Blacklist.^[10]

Amir has also appeared in films, and made his big-screen debut in Day Zero in 2007. He was also cast in the 2007 American immigration film The Visitor.^[11] He later appeared in Anamorph, I Hate Valentine's Day and Today's Special. In 2012, he was cast in the American comedy horror film Vamps. In 2013, he was cast in the comedy A Merry Friggin' Christmas.
