Adrian Hough is the Canadian actor who portrays the Woodcutter on ABC's Once Upon a Time.


Adrian Hough hails from Canada.[1] He is an accomplished actor who has appeared in over 100 movies and TV shows. When he was eleven years old, he went to Saturday morning classes and a course called Creative Drama and Mime, where he became interested in the magic of being able to create an illusion. Later he was inspired by seeing British period dramas on TV and when he was nineteen years old he decided that he wanted to be a Shakespearean actor. When he was twenty he went off to live in the UK for nine years, where he went to drama school and started to pursue and acting career.[2][3]

Adrian has had a number of starring and featured roles over the years. He has appeared in films such as the 2005 remake of The Fog, X-Men: The Last Stand, Dawn Rider and Rise of the Planet of the Apes and tons of episodes in various TV shows.[2] He is also known for voicing Haytham Kenway in the 2012 video game Assassin's Creed III,[4] a role he portrayed so well that he received a BAFTA nomination.[5]

Adrian was previously married to Marina Darling. He has three children.[1]
